I'm not big on getting up early to watch cartoons anymore, but I'll try it. I'll vote hot.

Well, it took me a bit to warm up to Teen Titans, but I ended up enjoying that series. I can see this happening the same way. Right now, if they are adding characters throughout TF lore into one animated series, that's 1 point to the HOT button. I'm hoping that character development will be done well. I don't need them to be clones of other series, I just want them to make sense in being in this series.

As for the toys, from what I've seen: HOT!!

Yes. It'll be Hot, or Not.

Somebody in the SDCC Decepticons thread said they thought TFA could either be the best TF cartoon ever, or it could bomb totally. I think I agree - at least in terms of cel-animated 'standard' cartoons; I'm keeping Beast Wars aside in its own little niche, because I don't think it's a reasonable comparison to make.

If it lives up to the promise of its production team, TFA has the potential to be a fantastically entertaining show in the mould of Teen Titans - and, of course, that carries with it the need to accept it as being in the Teen Titans mould rather than the G1 mould or the Beast Wars mould. If it doesn't live up to that promise, it'll look terrible and be widely derided.

At this point, I think the best I can say is that it looks promising, but it's going to be very different from any TF show that's been done before. Of course, that does make comparison with any prior shows a little problematic...

I'm willing to give it a try, but I've got a bad feeling about it...

My hopes are high for this show, I'm already in love with the decepticon character designs. But this show dsperatly needs Scott Mcneil, and Silverbolt

I've slowly become more optimistic toward the show with every bit of info released about it, so my prediction's getting warmer.

I'm gonna say Hot. I think people who assume this is going to be a strictly kiddie show just because it looks that way will be in for a surprise. If there's one thing about Cartoon Network 'originals', they usually end up with a surprising amount of depth simply because they tend to recognize that even adults watch cartoons. Nearly all their 'originals' end up with tons of little nods to the adults in the audience. I think this one has potential to be the first really big breakout TF cartoon since G1.

NOT!

Why watch this when you can watch Teen Titans? Heck, they're practically the same thing! You know what? I hope they don't ever put Jazz in this thing. I can only IMAGINE what they'll do to him.

I'm sorry, I am so disappointed with this. This is pretty much how I feel about it (fast-forward thru first 40 seconds)

Transformers aren't teens, they are adults.
Moonbase2 wrote:Heck, they're practically the same thing!
No, not realy. The villains are more prominent in TT that what has been said about TF:A

Make him not a stereotypical black guy or in the case of the movie, give him a few cringe worthy lines? I hope he is in it, and written a bit like Cyborg.

I feel this will be a hit or miss. Looks great though.

This DOES look like Teen Titans and its ilk. I should know, I have to endure these crappy cartoons on account of my older child. Humans aren't drawn to look human anymore, they are drawn to look like caricatures. And even though the G1 designs were boxy, they at least were believable enough that they resembled huge pieces of equipment with limbs that Transformers really are. This....this looks like human caricatures that are "robots". Hmpf.

Like I said, I'm writing this one off for the kiddies. There is a chance I may watch one episode, or watch it with my child, but this isn't the TF cartoon made for me. :(

Maybe hot to little kids but not to older kids/teens or us adults.
It's a kids show and the toy may look like preschooler toys or some weird cartoon toys that dont transform.
I hope that Takara/Tomy will produce another Japanese exclusive series with cool kick ass looking toys and an action pack anime like TF Victory.

I'll watch it, but I'm not keen on what we've seen so far, although I do like the look of the toys.

But I keep flashing back to how much I hated the Bay designs at first... Now I love 'em. So I'm gonna put my opinion on hold till I see more.

I'm going to say Hot, but it could really go either way. If kids do not embrace it the show will go down in flames (the new Masters of the Universe show that came out a few years ago is a perfect example). Either way I am looking forward to see what develops.

... I think you forgot BW..... |:| hahaha

but seriously, that aside... i think you are right on the money. Finally a highly G1 inspired 'toon.

We've been asking for this for years.... so HOT!

It'll be hot. All the kids will need to get back on the high of Transformers after the movie, and so will we, and we'll all watch it!

Something new, something fresh, toys look graet too. What I don't like is that blurry background crap whent hey are doing a transformation or action. I hate that crap, in any cartoon. But if they mix it up and not ALWAYS do it, then i'll be fine!

That anime streaky action background thing is in everything nowadays. Oh, the Japanity!

Well...because they look surprisingly similar?

I will admit, my expectations have been slightly raised after the clip. Wow, that hurt to say that.

As long as they don't yell "Transform!" and it takes 15 seconds, I can attempt to overlook the design. I hated the cybertron series and think this one might be better. I really, really hope so. If I can come around and like movie Megs, perhaps there is hope for me yet.

Better than the movie.

I was surprised how much cooler than TT it looked. Shame about the crappy Morph-forming though, but it could have been worse.

I can already tell I'm going to want that little kid to die.

That being said, it looks WAY better than I was expecting! I'm a little disappointed they didn't go with Cullen for Prime (c'mon, he just proved he's still the best man for the job!). The rest of the voice-cast looks amazing, and I like Starscream. Wish we could have heard Grimlock(please, please, please don't let the dinobots be just comic relief!) The clip for SDCC made me look foward to this like crazy.

GRIMLOCK! DINOBOTS! ARCEE! This cartoon, as a whole, looks like a big nod to G1...and that's going to make a lot of fans happy. Sure, it looks like Teen Titans...but it'll be WAY better than Armada, Energon, or Cybertron!

Hot.
