As we all know, IDW hosted a panal at San Diego Comic-Con. We all thought IDW let all the Transformers Comic news out at BotCon 2007, but we were wrong. IDW broke some very big news at Comic-Con. DeannaB of IDW's Forums and Newsarama have posted all of IDW's news from the event. Firt, there will be a Transformers Movie sequel comics. They will pick up where the movie left off and introduce new characters. The first one is titled The Search for Starscream. IDW also revealed that there will be a Transformers Spotlight: Ramjet coming out. It will be written by Stuart Moore, and the art will be done by Robbie Musso. Since they have not really more than sketched out plans for the second movie, I doubt the continuation product is meant to be cannon tell the story between movies. It just seems unlikely when they have not really considered who , what, or where for the next movie yet.
I assume it is just meant to keep a movie line of comics going and interest in movie characters.

this is a good idea. but maybe a possibility that they will take some of the ideas from the comic series into consideration in the sequel, fans seemed to have an impact on the first movie alot. either that, or IDW is just going to do its own movie series line, like they have their own g1 style line.

Cool I'd like to see the spotlight series do more with the side characters and kinda lay off the more prominent ones that are going to be all over no matter what the story.

LOL!!!
Hey, the guys in Jackass made a career of it.
Though with a plithora of far more interesting characters to flesh out, one has to wonder how they singled out Ramjet. Did they throw darts or something?

My guess ? One of them had a killer idea for his characterization. He's probably the craziest of the seekers, so it should be interesting indeed.

Hey, it's one of Furman's stocks-in-trade, after all - take an underused, virtually unknown character* and turn them into a fan favourite... At the very least, provide some much-needed characterisation. I'm looking forward to this one.
*Though I imagine his recent release in the Classics line can only have helped Ramjet's selection chances.

Oh man... I had to re-read that twice because the first few times I thought it meant there was going to be a "very special issue" of Transformers where Ramjet "comes out".

Ramjet spotlight.. I guess it will be post Stormbringer then.
Nice way to weave the Coneheads and Dreadwing/Darkwind into Devastation/Revelation!

im kinda interested in the ramjet spotlight. on the surface you'd think "wha-!" but then think about it. what the hell was bludgeon till furman got his hands on em?
ok stuarts writing him but im sure the big things have to be cleared by furman and hey i'll give any new writer a shot as we need em and eric's doing a fine job in the megatron series.
have to laugh though, everytime i think of ramjet i think of the DW 2nd g1 series and his opening splash page in one of the first 3 issues where he's trying to go up against the arks weaponry. fecking hysterical
