I received news from our friends at Madman Entertainment a couple weeks ago that they will be releasing boxed sets of Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory. I'm planning on providing Madman with photos of the figures from the Headmasters series to use in a special edition photogallery, much like I did with Madman's incredible Beast Wars DVD sets that they released last year. We'll be sure to keep you posted as Madman releases more news to us about these upcoming sets. Headmasters is scheduled to be released in November in Region 4 format. For more information about region-free DVD players, click here.

Yay, I made a thread on the mad boards almost a year ago begging for Headmasters and the like, so I'll pat my self on the back even if it probably didn't make much difference. Cant wait to see their sets, hope they are half as good as the Beast Wars sets. GO MADMAN!
Times like this makes me happy to be an Aussie.

Keep breaking those exclusive news stories Seibs!

First question, IN what languages?

Will it be the MetroDome crappy english that you can get for real cheap on ebay making it kinda worth it?

Or, will it have an english dub worth an inflated rate in a nicer box?

Also, I'm not gonna ad pics because I hate spoilers, but Fort Max is basicly Voltron in full robot mode.

I figure if you know it now, you wont be as let down after paying to see it as I was.

Still it's worth getting cause the first half is full of G1 premovie characters, and if you don't support this, they may not release some of the later series that actualy did some cool things.

I personaly hope this could lead to the Japanesse Beast Wars being released as well.

If you're referring to the horrible English dub, that's from the Star TV releases of the Japanese series back in the early 90s. If you're referring to the English subtitles, that's something that Metrodome commissioned. I'll ask Madman a question about this.

Fan-freeking-tastic!

No other company adds in as many extras as Madman does, and its not just on Transformers either, they pack as much stuff onto discs as they possibly can.

I'm not 100% sure but the same people who subtitled the Transformers Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory, Zone cartoons and other Animes over a TV-N(Censored)hn are working with Metrodome on the Japanese Transformers DVD release...

Hey I got a $24 DVD player at Best Buy that'll play anything, as compaired to $120 player that couldn't. So yeah, thanks for the PSA :D

And if you could ask MadMan about the dubs that would be great too! I could see this worth geting again if the dub is good, however if it's the same old, than well, what ever...

Also, if maybe you could nudge about the Japanesse BW series, that would be cool too!

Just if they listen could you also recommend somethong other than "Love is here as the BW Neo Theme!?!

They won't be coming up with new audio, if that's what you're talking about Liege Evilmus. I asked Daniel @ Madman about the audio ... he said they plan on keeping the English dubs as an extra feature. I think the horrible Star dubs are hilarious. They're great for drinking games and just having a good time. If you want to watch the shows without busting out laughing, just watch it in Japanese with the English subtitles.

Id rather have it in Japanese with English Subtitles.. Its like anime , it's best watched in japanese and not english dubbed with lots of grunts and huh's and hmmm's and mmm's and waahh's and haha laughs added in to take up the slack lol.. But im sure they will includ the Japanese audio as well as english so ill be happy :) I already own these series but they are pretty crappy like VHS converted to dvd or some junk and the acting is so bad lol ..

And you mustn't forget that this is an Aussie company, and there are few things we Aussies love more than taking the mickey out of anyone/anything else.

So I'd bet that the English Star dubs will be an extra feature, or selectable from the language menu, with the default set to Japanese Audio with English Subtitles.

How Madman decide to "advertise" the dubs will be very interesting!

OH, freakin' sweet! I wonder when these will see a release New Zealand side. Eh, probably a month after they're released in Aussie, come to think of it.

It will be interesting to see if Madman do their own subtitles or use Metrodome's and if they have any extra features.

Oh No! I'm watching them in English, I remember throughing in one of the Victory dics and the intro started off with some guy saying "... and then StarSaber fought the Dinosaur..." and I nearly died knowing that some guy HAD to read that with a straight face!

Its to rediculious not to watch that way!

Now if you don't mind, what are these drinking games you speak of? I can't imagine how quaters or beerpong would be adapted to this.

Take a drink after a character repeats what the last character said, for example:

"The Decepticons are going to the moon."
"What's that? The Decepticons are going to the moon?"

There's a LOT of that in the dub.

Interesting. I prefer to watch it in Japanese without the English subtitles. Once you learn their names and read the synopsis of the episode here on Seibertron.com, it doesn't become too hard to follow. Cybertrons beat Destrons in about 99% of the episodes.

Oh, so aparently I've been playing this game for the past 11yrs or so.

Who Knew!

PS, any one who wants to play along, come over, just don't mess up my house to much!

CHEERS!

Nope, I gotta agree with WheelJack35. The problem with subtitles is that if you leave the room for whatever reason in an episode with an actual story like the one with Daniel and SixShot, you can easily loss your place. With an english dub, you can just turn up the volume.

Not that there where lots of stories with depth, but in general, this is why I don't like subtitles, besides who want to read TV :???:

As far as the Episode Guides here, those are awesome, I checked out all those before I became a member here. For me they where most helpful with RID, as I was traveling alot during that series run and pretty much missed it, but let me guess AutoBots beat the Preds 99%0f the time

Reguardless, it's just one more thing to thank ya for Ryan!

Are they going to release a super set of all three Japanese series with the Zone OVA like Metrodome is doing?
