It was announced at Comic Con that there would be a Ramjet Spotlight comic by IDW. Today in the IDW Forums, Chris Ryall revealed Spotlight: Ramjet will not be the last Transformers Spotlight. There are plans for five more in 2008! That's not all. Ryall posted a little sneak peak from Spotlight: Ramjet. View Ryall's posts in the IDW Forums.

An earthen alternate mode? Is that just artistic license like Milne's Galvatron cover with him fighting a bunch of characters who aren't yet in the IDW universe, or a precursor of things to come?

I'm all for it. He and Thundercracker were always my favorite seekers.

OR maybe Ramjet is on Earth and that's why he has an Earth mode?

I never saw Ramjet getting a Spotlight. Anyone willing to bet the other 5 are the remaining Seekers? If characters like Ramjet can get a Spotlight, then all my hope for Trypticon isn't lost yet.

Ramjet was the only seeker I had as a kid - he definitely rocks - also he is the reason I used to hit things with my head.

Why do they have to keep that stupid conehead look? It could've gone either way, the original toy had a regular head (see the directions), the cartoon had the conehaed. Why did they choose to stick with the goofy conehead look? They stuck with Rumble being red even though he was blue in the cartoon so why couldn't they go with the normal seeker head instead of this stupid ass conehead?

Damn it that looks great. I have been in heart with Ramjet since day one and the Classics figure only upped Ramjets game. Now he's got his own Spotlight. I'm thinking it will show that he use to be uber smart then went retarded from getting in with the rough head butting crowd.

I'm hoping Downshift or any of the Omnibots get a spotlight. They need more time to shine.

Alright, sweet three posts in a row.
The reason they left him a cone head is the obvious answer... he's a conehead. To make him, Dirge or Thrust
non coneheads is like giving a triple changer only two modes. "why give him three modes, he only needs two." "Because he's a Triple Changer".
See where I'm going with this?

Those 'stupid' conehead looks are what makes Dirge, Thrust, & Ramjet memorable. Skywarp & Thundercracker for being Starscream clones, these guys for the way their heads looked. Just accept the fact that their heads are what makes these guys cool. I've always loved the conehead design for them, I even transform them this way. And Rumble
IS red. Frenzy is blue.

Here's the deal. Rumble's red unless you're talking about the cartoon, Frenzy's blue unless you're talking the cartoon. And even if you're talking cartoon, Rumble's purple, not blue, for those who want to make the "Rumble is blue" argument. IMO, the argument's stupid. It's like someone running around yelling "IRONHIDE AND RATCHET DON'T HAVE HEADS!" it's the same thing.

I am not big on the conehead look either, but I understand that it is part of what Ramjet, uh, Ramjet. So I'm ok with it. I hate Bumblebee's face, but I still like Bumblebee.

Hold up a second. So Ramjet's going to be appearing in the next issue of New Avengers/Transformers, based on what was said there. So he's going to end up being the character they said would end up dying.
So how did he get to Earth? What the hell was he doing during "Infiltration"? Why is he getting a Spotlight if he's going to end up dead? Is this Spotlight taking place before or after the NA/TF X-Over? If after, how will that work? He's going to be dead.
Ugh. I don't think I like this.

Maybe there is still the character that has yet to be named. Oh and I like how Ramjet looks like his Classics Release.

Well if this follows on from the last time we saw the coneheads, we might also get a glimpse of Darkwind and Dreadwing, seeing as they were all on Nebulos when Thunderwing was awoken in Stormbringer.
Maybe he wont die DB... or maybe this spotlight will show that he doesn't die, just a Machination copy or similar....

Same here (well, aside from hitting things with my head that is.) Anybody else see that he referenced the Classics mold for this cover instead of the G1 cartoon? Nice little switch IMO.

EDIT: Never mind. Hotrod noticed.
And BTW, can anyone post a list of the Spotlight comics that've already been released, please? I'm having trouble finding some of the earlier issues and need to know their titles and issue number. Thanks!

Trypticon, Punch/Counterpunch, Metroplex, and Fortress Maximus are four I would like to see in Spotlight.
