I have the novel. It was quite different from the movie in some ways. I also have the comic adaptation.

I have the novel. I will write an excerpt here, showing what has to be a homage to G1.

This from is when the AllSpark goes off and starts making machines become alive.

"...Among the stores situated on a street a block farther away was an extensive gun shop. Within the single, heavily barred window a single rifle put out hesitant tendrils and started to rise before collapsing back onto its display mount. The wave had lost its potency nary a a yard too soon..."

What do you bet that was a Walther P-38?

I'll bet all my toys against yours since it reads "rifle" and a Walther P-38 is a handgun. I win! PM me for an address to send all your toys to. :P

I have the novel and prequel, also a trilogy of TF books that's not related to the movie.

I only have the prequel. :( I wouldn't mind having the movie novel as well. Where did you get it? I'm overseas and I have to do all my shopping online.

The movie adaptation and Ghosts of Yesterday are both crap, surely? Typical tie-in fodder, poorly written, failing to capture the flavour of the movie, padded out with further 'character development' that adds nothing. I'm halfway through the movie adaptation now and it's doing my head in.

Ghosts of Yesterday would've been a lot better had it had less humans and more bots. That was its only flaw to me...which is kinda a big flaw

I found it to be a load of nothing, although I'll probably give it another go post-movie. Some time.

The prequel comics are cracking, though; my favourite sequence is Megatron landing on Earth. That's just great. Although... he runs out of Energon, and once he's thawed out in the film he's up and about like he's just had breakfast. Still, great issue.

Indeed, the prequel comic is excellent. I liked when Starscream shot down that jet, and we see him transform into his earth form. Very well drawn, well written.

Yeah, that was a cool bit. Also the final page, minus captions, with everyone moving into position. I swear I can hear swelling music every time I read it!
