I can make out Halfshell, Killerpunch and Saberback. Who are the other guys?

It's BW2 Dirgegun getting choked by Saberback who in turn is getting sacked by Killerpunch. And then Guildart clocking Halfshell on the bottom.

The big green shadow is definately Shokaract. Which puzzles me. How will these stories tie into the old BotCon comics? Not to spoil it for anyone but wasn't Shokaract beaten by, well, every TF ever?!

BTW, are those guys in the top panel anyone in perticular? 1 looks like he could be halfshell again.

I think you're reading too much into it. Then again, considering whose on the very next page...

I notice Grimlock is kind of furry on that one cover. It's probably supposed to be feathers because some dinosaurs had feathers (at least according to paleontologists) but he does look hairy.

Especially next to Polar Claw.

Still, it's Beast Wars and so I am Very Interested in it.

Gotta make sure I put my name down for a copy.

Hmm...I was thinking that the shadow was somehow a resurrected Rampage, immortal spark and all that...interesting.

Wolfang's eyes were green in The Gathering weren't they? Other than that The Ascending looks great.

Maybe that's who Seibertron is telling us "Is Coming"

Oh, the tie-ins and cross overs go so far beyond the possibility of comic pages :-? or do they :???:

As we have is an out line of the same design its possible but given the homage paid by the figure in the distance to the original artwork in the omega point story really lends credance to the fact this IS Shokaract.

My own opinion is that we see how Magmatron ties into preventing Shokaract's merging with the dark essence as didn't furman mention he wants to tie the beast wars continuity up together a bit more.

Be nice if all BW storylines could be woven together so at least one TF universe has a consistent continuity. If not still nice to have furman throwing us some nice tie ins rather than the DW fanwank idea of having every character possible mentioning ever event from their life and rehashing a cartoon in every issue...nice for easter eggs but no real deep woven plot

It's a nice looking comic, but what's with the superhero muscular, chest puffed looks??? They're in a bit of a relaxed state so shouldn' they be similarly displayed. Don is a master, and I am one to never question, it just caught my eye, how streamlined and superhero-esgue he was drawing Razorbeast, and K-9 (or whoever they are, I am so bad with BW names...).

I think this might be a bigger clue than what Ryan gave on the home page. Does he have a Magmatron toy gallery online yet? To coincide with the release of The Ascending? Note the green eyes and faded out face on the cover. Or is it all just incidental?

Maybe he is trying to give them organic look? Though I gotta say that the close-up of Wolfang(?) on the prewiev page five does look a lot like a certain marvel superhero anyway

I am psyched for this comic. Beast wars is the best thing that IDW has done (TF wise, i don't read any other comics). I can't wait for this and the profile book. Anyone know when it will come out?

well i really hope it isn't Shokarat botcon exclusives don't below in mainstream storylines.
i hope its rampage because he's a character more people are familiar with.

Don't forget people furman is a big fan of beast machines so expect that to be included

Has no-one noticed Unicron yet?

If I didn't know better he wasn't in the IDW-verse yet.

Yes i had noticed him but he links directly into Shockaract as he possesed him during the omega point.

I've just remembered that Furman said Unicron will feature in BW so I'm guessing in the scene where optimus primal and co suddenly get all the help to fight shockaract in the form of randmom beats COULD be all the gathering/ascending characters thanks to Magmatron
