Confusion about some things in the later issues of the Marvel G1 comic.

OK, there's a few things that confuse the hell out of me in the G1 Comic. First off, Starscream and Shockwave, along with passengers take off to Earth to attack a "Transformerless planet." However, after the ark blew up, and Galvatron attacked Earth, Fortress Maximus and Spike were still there. Now hang on. Shouldn't Max and Spike have been transported to Cybertron with the rest of the Transformers to fight Unicron? Or was this explained earlier in an issue I haven't read?

Also, why does Megatron stick around on the Ark and walk right into Galvatron? Being Megatron, shouldn't he have blown a hole in the side of the ark and taken off back to Cybertron to retake command of the Deceps?

As best as I could tell, Primus didn't grab EVERY Autobot and Decepticon from across the galaxy. He didn't touch any of the deactivated Autobots on the Ark, nor did he grab the Dinobots who were active. Details are fuzzy, but I believe he only grabbed Prime and the closest chunk of TFs that were around him at the time.

In answer to the Megatron question, he was pretty out of it and in his own little world at that time. Being merged with Ratchet, even he himself didn't completely understand what was going on.

Spike/Fortress Max quit a few issue's before the fight with Unicron. He wanted nothing more to do with the war.Megatron was in pretty bad shape having just been reactivated by mistake when Grimlock reactivated the rest of the Dinobots.

Maximus was aboard the Ark the whole time, just not in an active state.

O Rly? I thought he was on Earth? I have to re-read my graphic novel again. But I'm wondering who'd be in the other stasis pods. My guess, knowing Furman- Sideswipe, Tracks, Omega "Spreem", and... dunno, just to throw another name out there, since there were no other European Autobot Action Masters who were killed in the Underbase saga... Jetfire?

Naw, Grim had already reactivated the Dinobots by the time they returned to the Ark. He just didn't bother looking to see who else he was pumping Nucleon into when he reactivated the other Autobots.

Nope, Spike was on Earth, Max was on the Ark when it crash landed. And Furman didn't limit himself to just the Action Master figures, he showed a great deal of Autobots such as Silverbolt, Skids, Ironhide, and Sunstreaker who were all reactivated by the Nucleon. If the story had continued, it would have been interesting to see how he handled the rest of the Action Masters, since Grimlock was the only one to reach the final phase (and Prime...more or less).

Gotcha.
