Hey guys, look what I found on Wiki today. Its a list of the characters that are going to be in the show. First up, Autobots!
Confirmed characters are:
Autobots
Optimus Prime: New leader of the Autobots on Earth, transforms into a futuristic fire truck, and wields an axe.[5]
Bumblebee: The youngest member and covert spy of the group. Has a retractable battle mask. Transforms into a vehicle similar to his Classics version.[5]
Ratchet: Seasoned Autobot Medic, legitimate combat, Cybertronian version of the military. Transforms into an ambulance.[5]
Bulkhead: Tough Autobot and will be similar to the Fantastic Four's Thing. Colour scheme is based on G1 Hound. Transforms into a armored carrier.[5]
Prowl: His alt-mode is now a Motorcycle and he fuctions as a ninja for the group.[5]
Jazz: Disguised as a sports car, this bot likes earth culture and its slang.
Grimlock: A Tyrannosaurus Rex. Leader and member of the subgroup Dinobots. Beast mode is in the same colours as his G1 version; wields a sword.
Slag: Triceratops Member of the subgroup Dinobots.
Swoop: Pteranodon Member of the subgroup Dinobots.
Sentinel Prime: Leader of the Autobots on Cybertron.
Ultra Magnus: Seasoned Autobot commander on Cybertron and superior of Optimus Prime.
Blurr: The fast-talking energetic Autobot.
Arcee: One of the few female Autobots. Transforms into a jet. Robot Mode is nearly identical to the G1 design. Colour scheme is identical to the G1 version.
Wreck-Gar: A garbage truck with a parodying sense of humor.
Decepticons
Megatron: A gun in his Cybertronian mode, futuristic jet in Earth mode; also wields a sword.[5]
Starscream: Resembles Cyclonus in jet mode. Has forward-pointing wings. Colour scheme is the same as G1 Starscream. Headsculpt looks similar to the G1 version.[5]
Blitzwing: A Triple Changer (tank, jet, robot); a new spin on his character, he has a split personality. Spinning face gimmick on the toy.[5]
Lugnut: (similar in body style to Bulkhead), Lugnut has missiles for hands and is a jet of some sort.[5]
Blackarachnia: Different origin than in Beast Wars. Starts out as a different character entirely, one of the more complicated Decepticons. Transforms into a black-purple spider.[5]
Soundwave: His alt-mode is now based on a Scion xB and his minion Laserbeak now transforms into a guitar. Similar colour as his G1 version.
Lockdown: A combination of a 1980s style black Corvette and 1960s Cougar hybrid design with a Supercharger. He is calculating and has been described as being like Boba Fett; has a hook for a right hand.
Shockwave: The military operations commander for the Decepticons, and is very loyal to Megatron.
Wow, thats a lot of names. I hope this helps.

Awesome! I really like the idea of Optimus Prime being subordinate to some Cybertron-based 'bots. Kinda like Optimas Primal on Beast Wars. These animated designs are growing on me and I'm starting to look forward to this show...

I like the general variety of characters they've chosen, and that so many of them are close to their G1 counterparts.
But I'm a stickler on a few points.
I don't like Ultra Magnus being superior to Optimus. I was always more of a fan of the "I'm not worthy" soldier Magnus. If they want Cybertronian superiors to Optimus, there's plenty of likely candidates, Emirate Xaaron is one that springs to mind.
Ninja-cycle Prowl. No chance of me ever getting behind this idea. If they want to create a new character, they should just create a new character. There's also lots of obscure characters they could've revived as this character, notably G1 Override, who actually was a motorbike. I don't see much point in trying to link it to a well known G1 character he has near-nothing in common with. It also means we won't get the real Prowl.
Other than that, they seem to have made some smart choices. I'm really pleased with the general direction they're going in. Can't wait for the new animated movie. Should be a refreshing change of pace from the stiff cel-shaded cartoons.

Interesting to hear about Sentinel Prime, Ultra Magnus, Wreck-gar and Arcee showing up.
Ninja Prowl doesn't bother me too much yet. It looks like an interesting design at least, and as for using a wildly different alt-mode on what appears to be a brand new character...I remember a time when I laughed at there being a Barney look-alike trying to call himself Megatron, and now realise there were 2 definitive characters with that name. Willing to give it a chance.
Blackarachnia is another character first? I'm thinking maybe Arcee.

Do you know who edited the page?
Wikipedia isn't always the most reliable source.
Although if Sentinel is in I'm happy.

These seem accurate, although Jazz seems to be new to the list.

Well, we'll know eventually.
Sentinal sounds great. Haven't seen him awhile, but he'll be different.
Anyone else feel they're bringing back the original movie?

Jazz and Blurr both seem new to me.
I have a feeling Ultra Magnus will still be a soldier with a high ranking, but this time he will be under the command of Sentinal Prime rather than Optimus. Seeing as Optimus is meant to be only a fairly young bot, this makes sense.
I will miss the Prime vs. Megatron have battled each other for eternity relationship though.

Arcee: Arcee transforming into a jet is news to me. That seems odd. I mean, Arcee as a pink car was realistic, because there ARE pink cars. There may not be a lot, but Elvis' pink Caddy springs easily to mind. But whoever heard of a PINK jet?? I suppose a private jet could be painted whatever color the owner wanted to paint it, just like with cars, but that just seems like a bit of a stretch. However, it would still be cool, cause then they could do a Decepticon repaint, and we would finally have our first real female seeker!
Megatron: I think they got Megs wrong. I'm 99 percent certain that Megs starts out as a Cybertronian jet, and then gets a "shooting" alt mode on Earth. (By "shooting" I mean gun form like G1, cannon form like G1 Galvatron, or tank form like G2.)
Starscream: And I know they got Starscream wrong, because we've seen toys based on SS already. His color scheme is similar to G1 *Thundercracker*, not Starscream.
Black Arachnia: I think there is a lot of confusion on BA. I think by "different character," they meant she will either start out like Beast Wars Black Arachnia and be a hardcore Decepticon, and then soften up, maybe even to the point of joining the Autobots. Or she's the opposite of Beast Wars Black Arachnia, in that she starts out not even sure she should be on the Decepticon side, but becomes more and more ruthless as time goes on.
All that said, I can't wait for the show to start!

The more I find out about the new Transformers Animated, the more I like it. An Arcee who looks like her G1 self in robot mode? Sweet. I even like the idea of her being a jet. Blackarachnia looking like her BW self, even if the character is totally different? Also good, as long as she's a complex and conflicted character, which it sounds like she is. Prowl as a motorcycle? Why not? As long as it's a cop motorcycle. The first stills from the new series looked questionable to most of us, but the toys and the overall choices for characters have my support at this point. Let's just hope the writing makes it fun for us to watch, not just kids. Even if not, a few of the toys look completely worthwhile.

I don't see why the Ninja Character being called Prowl is a bad thing, Prowl doesn't sound very police like to me anyways.
And who knows, the name might be the only thing they have in common (other than the really obvious stuff; being male, being able to transform ect.)
amd what is Prowl better as, an owl or a ninja motorcycle?

Ultra Magnus out-ranks Optimus Prime? Two words:
Aw, HELL NO!!!
The rest sounds pretty interesting except for whoever having some kinky obsession with the ugly Scion xB. I sorely hate that car, and I never bothered with the Alternators xB for the same reason.

On the other hand Ultra Magnus is outranked by Sential Prime, and I think this is the first time this character has ever seen an animated form. So we can only guess that the reason for Magnus to outrank Prime is becuase of the fact that he probably is older then Prime.
Prowl as a ninja, so long as he's still the stiff guy that we know, I'm okay with that. And an officer, I like already that he gets annoyed with Prime's speeches.
I just hope that Sari isn't the sort of girl that really gets on your nerves.

I'm absolutely dying to see the new Shockwave. I hope he gets a toy too. There hasn't been a cool Shockwave figure since 1985.

The only thing I'm disappointed in is that Laserbeaks going to be a guitar. Why even name him that if he's not a bird? For that matter anyone else wondering if good old Soundwaves going to sound like a bad english punk rocker. *hopes not*
Hummm, Prime doesn't mention why he's working on the astroid, me thinks that maybe he's met Megs before and did something Sentinal didn't like. Oh question, if there's already a prime will that mean his name is just Optimus?

Here's the only thing regarding Waspinator and Silverbolt, do not expect them to be voiced by Scott McNeil. Unlike David Kaye, Scott's a Canada only actor, this means that you're not going to see him Waspinator or Silverbolt, unless there is a lot of legal wrangling. So more then likely we may see Daniel Ross playing Waspy, and no word of Silverbolt.

as long as Starscream looks the same I'm cool with it I just hope the other seekers make an appearance every once in a while

At first I was somewhat uninterested about this cartoon but as news comes in it just keeps getting better and better. Jazz's in there, Arcee too, Black Arachnia, Dinobots!

All that realy makes me happy inside. I just can't wait for it to come out. I just hope it will air here even if it's in french (in wich case I hope they won't have the same voices as in the Unicron trilogy. It was absolutely the worse voice acting I have ever heard. EVER!!!).

From what I've seen he'll have one heck of a chin.

*laughs* I just hope this chin is not his weapon. Tom Kenney seems to be doing a decent Chris Latta from the previews. Though I'm more partial to Daniel Ross's and Doug Park's starscream voices. Both can reach his screaming whiney voice.
If they do have the other two seekers, I hope they get Frank Welker to do Skywarp. (Evil Freddy)

Indeed brother! Daniel ross does a killer Waspinator! Still I havent heard Daniel do Silverbolt before so that might be cool to hear him.
But I was just wondering, if the show cant get Scott Mcneil, Perhaps Steve J Blum should voice Silverbolt. The only problem is Silverbolt is a noble character, Steve's voice dosnt classify as Noble, lol
