Has anyone here taken the time to actually find out what the Maximal and Predacon texts say? So far i have gone through the entitre 3 seasons of BW and have unlocked just about everything that's in Maximal text, i say just about because some parts were simply unreadable. And now i have just started doing the Predacons text. Anybody interested in what the maximals text says. It isn't always what you think it would say.

Wait a minute. You've gone through and translated the Maximal language?

You have too much free time.

I would be interested to know what says what and where it said it. I would also be interested to know how you tranlsated it. For all I know, you could just write random gibberish without proof of the translation.

I would love to know what it means.

Wasn't there a member here who could decipher what they said?

The Transformers have long been lacking a translatable language. This is a great idea!

I think Glyph had either decoded himself or had a decoded version of the Cybertronian text from BW. If memory serves, he even had a font for it so one could type in Cybertronian.

There are fonts for the Maximal and Predacon scripts used on the show, but they're both a bit hit-and-miss for accuracy (probably done from blurry VHS episodes?). The Maximal one in particular can be used to help translate stuff from the show - I find the Pred one very hard to reconcile with what's on the screen. One of my long-term gonna-get-around-to-it-someday projects is to remake the fonts to be fully screen-accurate.

It's quite cool to find the Easter eggs hidden in the text - some of my favourites are the big 'Suckers' in Pred text on the side of Ravage's Big Freakin' Missile from The Agenda, the Ark having a 'Nuke' weapon option and a 'John loves Heather' tag on its tac screen, and Cheetor's 'Restricted' sign on his bedroom wall (it basically said 'cheetahs only' - a great little nod to his teenager-style immaturity).

Here's a couple of images from the show, with the text transcribed:

Well well well, looks like more then just myself has had "too much free time". How did you get your proof Glyph?

Oh and for all those people who can't work it out. Man never tells anyone his secrets. Ya blew that theory Glyph.

Cool...thanks for that...with all this text i now have a point of reference to translate the rest.

Predacon is laughably simply...in other voices part 2 when megatron is scanning the pod in the final scene the texts runs accross his computer from either a-z or backwards leaving it a very simple thing to copy and use as a reference.

I know there was a web site years ago from a guy who did translate most of it from a cypher from mainframe, and posted the screens and translations on his site. If I find I link you.!

Ok, here's a question for you all. We know that Ken Steel is one of the Supervising Animators for Beast Wars, but who is Josette Steel. Anyone know?

I think they are all bilingual...One has to be able to interpret the text of one's enemies..Just a personal theory

Here is what happens to a person when they are on their days off of work after a disgustingly difficult week:

I managed to run a copy of the Maximal language off the site. I started watching Beast Wars, not thinking much of it...and was watching the last third of "Double Dinobot" (Youtube..put there by TheUltimateOne81...Part 3/3 at 4:57/7:08) and there was a Maximal scan done on the Dinobot clone by Sentinal. The Maximal script popped up and I got the crazy notion to attempt translation...and MAN! Was I shocked at what came of it! The screen, printed BACKWARDS in Maximal, was the phrase "Hey Ian Go Eff (explitive actually used) Yourself"....I fell out the frikkin chair!

And yes, I have 2 days off and I plan to use them as insanely as possible!

CORRECTION!!! It was Part 2/3...not 3/3....everything else is right though! Sorry 'bout that!

My downstairs neighbor heard me fall and came up to find me in tears, in a ball on the floor, laughing uncontrollably, scaring the living dooky outta my cat! It was priceless!
