IDW has officially announced that there will be a Transformers and Avengers Crosssover. That is not all! The crossover is due out in July 2007. Here is what IDW postes about the Transformers and Avengers Crosssover:

Could be good. Grimlock and Wolvie? Could be Gold! Plus it'd be nice if Spidey has a feeling about knowing these guys from somewhere. Plus he'd just HAVE to call Megatron Bazooka Joe again!

I hope it's the classic Transformers and not the movie Transformers.

Now, if only we could get a corresponding toy line or an exclusive Diamond / Wizard figure set since Hasbro is handling the Marvel toy property now. That would be awesome.

I would be more interested in Marvel doing the series instead of IDW. Neither way, hopefully it will be quality.

Still, it's good to know. I wonder if Spidey will remember any of the Transformers. I know it's been a while and he's been busy, but still, I thing it would be great if he came into this recognizing the TFs.

This could be a good story. I hope it turns out alright. I like the thought of Optimus Prime and Captain America teaming up.

...I like the idea of a crossover...but how the feck is it going to work?

To be honest the whole idea sounds stupid. I can see it now:
Captain America: "Hey Optimus can you help use defeat Kang"
Prime: "Sure!" (Prime shots Kang, Kang is disintergrated)
Prime: "Now you can help us against Megatron"
Cap: "OK" (Avanger charge towards Meggie, Meggie shots all the avangers, avanger comic cancelled)
