Advance reviews for issues that are quite a way off:Escalation #5 --
http://fractalmatter.com/main/?p=542Spotlight: Soundwave --

Front paged and credited Denyer. I would have done this sooner, but I've been a bit busy. Thanks again.
As much as I don't care for the art of the Kup Spotlight, the story sounds good enough. Here's hoping it all gets a little better as IDW continues to grow the brand.

I'm loving it, although I think I remember reading somewhere that the entire issue isn't like that, it's for a particular effect (and that if he told us why, it'd spoil part of the story)... either that or I'm going senile...

A TF horror comic? Groovy.
Kup better replace his hand with a chainsaw and grab the nearest boomstick.

If I recall isn't this all suppose to be in his head? like he's having a bad acid flashback or something to that effect.

Some of it -- I think the twist may be that we won't find out exactly what's real and what isn't. I have a few more guesses, but don't want to speculate too much... more fun sometimes just to get the story when it turns up.

How quaint. Kup's battling the Movie Transformers.
I know, I know, but someone had to say it.

From the preview it looks dark and dirty. I like it.
Who's the Wrecker with the blade for a hand?

See second post in thread.
First US cover for Impactor and Rack'n'Ruin, I think.

I don't know much of the UK comics, so this may come as a dumb question. Did those two ever have an alt mode?

Impactor has a tank alt form, I think. R and R? Hell if I know.

Think it was hinted at in a cover booklet or letters page answer that Rack'n'Ruin had jet alt-modes... but I also seem to remember something about them no longer being able to transform after their life-support systems were joined together.
Like with Emirate Xaaron, we never see 'em transform in the comic.

Sounds like a cool name but I am wondering the same thing.

There's nothing in the Vector Sigma Database on Impactor, but I'll make a educated guess and say he was the leader of the Wreckers before Magnus or Springer ever showed up.

Is the database just toy/cartoon characters? Can't see Maccadam either... Mace Windu's in there, though...
Impactor was leader of the Wreckers directly before Springer, yeah. First appearance was in Target: 2006, and he also had a prominent role in City of Fear.

What's Impactor's reason for the blade?

So he can harpoon people to death by just pointing at them:
