Transformers think in BASIC?!

I've just been going through the Headmasters DVD box set (on loan from ThunderThruster), and in a few of the episodes (particularly the earlier ones) there are some scenes where you see from the TFs' viewpoint. As is often the case with such things, there's various bits of computer text flashing across their HUDs as they analyse what they see.

But here's it's all BASIC coding! :))

This amused me no end.

glad your enjoying the series.
if they're thinking in basic, does that mean that alot of our latest code is more advanced than they are?

Possibly. Or maybe they somehow evolved BASIC to the point where they don't need to come up with a new system... :P

But most of the coding I noticed were 'print' lines... :-?

well they do speak modem... which is weired, and I'm sure the animators just put in some code gibberish so it would look real.

Maybe that's why Transformers' brains fit on floppy disks?

In Apple's flavor of BASIC, that was the command one would use to reboot from the floppy. Not pure BASIC, but 'twas the one I cut my teeth on.
