I believe that was IDW colourist Josh's take on Animated Soundwave, not an official piece.

I saw an unpainted mold of a Scion that was supposed to be Soundwave's Alt mode. I've never been a fan of Scions, especially the XB. I also saw the bot mode of Soundwave so I am assuming that's really supposed to be his new Animated version. In bot mode, he was holding the guitar and it said it is supposed to be Laserbeak. I don't know about the whole guitar thing. Seems kind of goofy and trying to be to hard to be "cool". So far I don't really like this version of Soundwave but I'll hold my judgement until the after seeing how the series turns out.

I couldn't find the exact site I found before, but I did find another one that shows the Shockwave mold with the guitar like I was talking about. I'm sure many people have seen this <a href="http://toysrevil.blogspot.com/2007/08/guide-to-knowing-your-transformers.html">link</a> before but if you haven't, it will give you a chance to see several of the characters.

I find it ironic that that picture is posted on a site called Vox- which is a British guitar Amplifier-producing company.




If he doesn't have a British accent, I will be dissapointed.

I just like Laserbeak the guitar.
And, why must you complain? It's a kid's toy for Primus' sakes.

i like this soundwave, still has a classic look to it but with a rocker attitude, since lazerbeak is the guitar what are the other casseticons? more guitars? bass?

At least it makes since. Kind of a carry over from their piledriver days.

The part that should make you cry is Ravage being a bass and Ratbat on lead vocals.
