WHAT THE HELL?! Seriously, Megatron is the only one who acts anything like what he was in Beast Wars! Optimus is a really bad hippie, Rattrap is an even bigger dick than he used to be, Blackarachnia's like a schoolgirl with a crush, and Silverbolt's a friggin EMO! (As is Nightscream with that bloody fringe.) And once again, we're given a handful of the toylien in the whole show. I feel kinda robbed, since at that point in time, they could've given us more characters. It's a pretty pisspoor concept of Megatron destroying EVERY body on Cybertron. The whole planet is empty, and the characters only seem to explore around one certain area anyway. I'm annoyed about the character changes, and that sorta thing, but i'm more pissed off that it's our only series so far where the whole thing is set on Cybertron, and we instead of meeting more characters, we have less. LAME.

Best series ever. Dark, gritty and with Megatron having the upper hand right til the last. The only problem that I have with Beast Machines is that there isn't an awful lot more of it. Strangely as somebody who never really 'got' the whole Beast Wars concept at the time I really wasn't expecting to like this show at all but it won me over in no time. Better than G1, better than Beast Wars, better than any of the redubbed stuff that's come since. This is of course only my opinion and completely subjective.

Yeah, I mean, that's a fair call, I mean, I don't think it would be so bad if it were a stand alone series, but just the fact that it's meant to be a continuation from Beast Wars and G1, and the fact everything's so screwed around and changed from Beast Wars ruins it, IMO.

Yeah I feel that Beast Machine may have been remembered more fondly if the series had have been able to flesh out a bit more. Both the Seasons ended rather quickly, they felt a little rushed.

Well it looks like it all becomes obsolete next year anyway with Animated being the new future of G1. The Beast era is dead, long live the Beast era!

Or will Animated end with some of the Animated crew being reformatted into Beasts???

I'll never understand that..if it's dead, it can't live...
Anyhow, being grown on beast wars, Machines is only natural for me, so yeah.
Although I originally thought (and did until 5 years ago) it was a ripoff of BW.

Personally, I liked BW more than BM.....

Dude i've got 3 words for you... watch it again.
yeah at first i didn't like it too but it grew on me as i understood the concept better and just the lack of characters and the lack of personalities for the vehicons... it's just that brilliant and dark, just as megs wanted it to be... this is by far Megatron's 15 minutes of fame and glory. infact this is the only Megatron who actually achieved his goals perfectly.

It does grow on you, and the writing is overall very good (Mr. Wolfman being a very good writer), and would have been an outstanding sequel to BW if they had a better grip on the characters, they felt like they changed far too much from their previous forms, and I didn't care for Nightscream at all. Also, I understand characters grow and change, but none of it was gradual... Black Arachnia lost ALL her bad girl-ness, Cheetor grew up way, WAY too fast, and Optimus Primal, whom in the previous series dedicated to saving EVERY comrade, no matter what, was adrift most of the time and didn't seem to care except for changing Cybertron.
I was also dissapointed that Megatron lost all his quirks that made him so great in BW.
Now, the good things:
Megatron was sucessful:
Something no Megatron has ever been able to do, Megatron II was more or less victorious until the very end, but I still found it odd that he took over that easily, and killed off so many predacons and maximals with no survivors (except Nightscream.), it would hve been interesting to have a predacon survivor, and have no choice but to join the Maximals.
Animation was top notch, great shadows.
Writing was the darkest and most deep of ANY transformers show. You've got to give them that, they certainly treaded new water, even if it wasn't well-liked.
And yes, the toys were horrible.
I didn't like how they cheated in the character model's transformation. The Maximals did more morphing then transforming, and there was more growth/shrinkage for the Vehicons then the original G1 cartoon (and hell, did they take some liberations there), why did they do that for the Vehicons? Doing straight-up transformations that turn with no size change would have made them look more contrast to the Maximals, and would have flowed better, IMO. Oh well.
Overall, this show dosn't really leave a bad taste in my mouth (that goes to the next 4 shows after that)
HAIL TO THE NEW ANIMATED SERIES!

Night creeper would have been killed by the BW dinobot for treason even suggesting Cheetor to replace Primal. He was annoying vampire who sucks enegry from the Vehicons and his sonic waves were more destructive to the maximals than the vehicons. Rattrap is needing someone to control him and insult him.He looks depressed and his robot is awful.

It's Nightscream, not Night Creeper....

1. NightSCREAM. 2. How can it be treason? They're not a country, or army anymore. And Dinobot wouldn't have been loyal either. Dinobot would've AGREED to overthrow Primal. and 3. He was a bat, not a vampire. And where the hell do you get "More destructive" from?

I thought BM was excellent but I never liked Nightscream's design. Or Rattrap's.

Yeah, as I said: It would've been alright had it been a series on its own, but the fact it changed characters' personalities so drastically following on from Beast Wars, and that it changed Cybertron into something technorganic instead of metal as it had been, along with the lack of episodes and/or characters has dragged it down a bit.
