Is Cybertron Scourge an autobot or not?

I found that wikipedia has him listed as an Autobot in the Cybertron Autobot rooster. So what do you think? After all he did side with the autobots at the end of Cybertron and fought against Galvatron alonside Op and all the other leaders.

Uh, EVERYONE (Outside of the joke characters, and the planet X characters) became Autobots at the end. Scourge was still a Decepticon, and the toy is a Decepticon.

Count Scourge like Dinobot, a Decepticon Spark whose Honour made him side with the Autobots.

The more problable explanation. I always like character like that :P

No Damolisher was smack bang on the money, everyone bar Galvatron, Starscream and the Planet X characters became "Autobots" for the final few episodes. Kind of like a Unification of Cybertron. In the very final episode Thunderblast grabs Thundercracker, Crumplezone and Ransack (more or less against their will) and flies off to create a new Decpticon Empire.

One could argue that he walked the path of the Autobots, and slightly agreed with them, but his heart will always be a tryant. A leopard never changes his spots.

As I said, all of the joke characters flew away to rebuild the Deceps. :P

And to Matt D: Not true! A leopard can change his spots! Mike Tyson stopped biting ears! Now, he's a cocaine addict! HA!

In the plot of Cybertron Scourge wasn't a Decepticons to start - all the Jungle, Speed and Giant planet transformers didn't seem to have Autobot or Decepticon, they were just Transformers. It was Scourge siding with Megatron that made him a Decepticon, and then later he sided with Optimus. Yes, the TOY was a Decepticon. They toy for Mudflap was Decepticon too, but he was clearly an Autobot in the story, then a Decepticon, then Autobot again. Menasor changed sides, Scourges lackies followed him, even Dirtboss followed his leader to the side of the Autobots it seemed.

The hearts of Thundercracker, Thunderblast, Crumplezone and Ransack are a bit different in the Japanese and English translations of the show. In the English they wanted to be on the "winning side" for once, so helped save the Jungle planet from the falling giant jet engine thingie. In the Japanese they said they still hated the Autobots, but defeating the Autobots was something they wanted to do themselves, and they wouldn't let the Autobots be defeated in some accident saving a planet - it would rob them of their victory over the Autobots. I personally like the Japanese story better. They are still villians, but they want to DEFEAT their opponents, not just let their opponents die saving a planet.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Dirt Boss forcibly made to join the Decepticons by Ransack and Crumplezone? Mudfalp was kinda tricked into into it, and as you said The Jungle beasts followed their leader, making Scourge and Ransack, Crumplezone the only "true" Decepticons. (Thunderblast switched sides too much).

There is the winning answer!

in my opinion, this is too much of a gray area in the Cybertron series...actually if we look at it, Scaleface is right - other than the Cybertronians, all the other planet robots (i think) have no true Bot/Con allegiance except to their own.

to wit, Scourge's personality in the animation was that like of a Spartan - he only respects brute strength and courage. that is why he sided with Megatron at first. but this did not make him necessarily a Decepticon, more of an uneasy ally to the Cons.

:MAX:

Scourge was an indecisive sissy, couldn't win anything. One thing that bugged me was his 30 second recolor in the show as Cryo Scourge....damn plotholes.

The Hasbro take on the character was differnet from that on the Takara. Since Takara wrote the TV series episodes, Scourge was a nice guy at heart. The Hasbro take on him was he was evil to the core.
