Let's Face it: With Cree Summer voicing Blackarachnia in TF Animated...

She'll wind up sounding like one of three characters: Suzie from Rugrats, Foxxy from Drawn Together, or Cree from Codename: Kids Next Door. Seriously, Cree Summer has to have the least range of any voice actor I've EVER seen, bar none.

Gonna agree here, the girls got a great sense of humor, but no range.
I'm also willing to bet she'll be writen ala Raven with an "urban" edge.
I know "this is the new **** and not your old crap..." But who's realy gonna argue with a return of the asian exotic dancer inspireded bot, and the Venus chich with the raspy voice

Haha.. I just realized who that woman was. And yeah.. all of those characters sound the same. This is just going to be a completely different Black Arachnia.

If she sounds like any of those 3 (only one I do like is Foxxy) I'll scream. But with G1 VA in the cast as well as Weird Al as Wreck Gar this overrides the inclusion of Summer in the cast for me.

I like her voice and always smile a little when I realize it's her doing a new character. And I do think she has better range than she's given credit for (Atlantis). She's just constantly asked to do the same type of voice again and again. Besides, who knows, she may surprise us.

Cree Summers might not have the range of Frank Welker, but what she does, she does well. She sounded great as Magma on the X-Men Legends game, for example, and I didn't once think of her best-known cartoon portrayals while hearing her voice acting there. I can't think of a more appropriate choice for Blackarachnia. So far, I'm only wondering whether adults can watch this along with kids and have fun. I have little doubt it'll succeed with its target audience.

Yeah, well my main issue is that she's like about 50 voices off Frank's range. All of her voices are based off her real voice, which her adult/teen voice being a higher pitched version of her own voice. If you've heard Cree from KND, that's bascially her real voice, and her Susie Carmichael voice is like her kids version of her own voice, so it's not really like she has range fullstop. You can EASILY tell Cree Summer.

Who knows, they might put her voice through some Synthesisers or something to "warp" it a little. At least I hope they do.
Suzy from Rugrats is the only voice I know, and it grates me...

Yeah, he's meant to be a Dumptruck who's meant to be Wreck-Gar.

Nice triple post there.
Anyway, Cree Summer is around 38. So, she's not really that old. I haven't actually heard Blackarachnia actually speaking in Animated, so I'll lay my judgement on her later.
On another note, I really need to go back and watch Atlantis. Not only to observe more of her voice, but because I really liked that movie.

I wish I could disagree with you, but you are right. I did a quick of Rugrats, KND, and Drawn Together. The characters she plays in all those shows sound the same. The voice she did for Penny in the first season of Inspector Gadget was a little different, but that may be due to the fact that she was fourteen at the time.

Listen to her a Mercy in Superman: Doomsday. She's pretty damn good. I'll bet that's what she'll sound like as Blackarachnia.

I thought about purchasing that movie a while back. I don't think I ever did. Oh well, better now than never.

Penny the only good thing she has done. At least the voice sounds totally different to the same sounding stuff she has done. Superman: Doomsday not in Australia for sale as yet but I may have to see it to see if she does sound different from her usual 3 voice range.

Suzie, Foxxy and the number 4 or 6 from codename kid are all black characters. She will more like Beyonce than what asian geisha or venus type figure w/ raspy voice if that what you guys consider her look like. A sterotypical sexpot to a feminist view point

and not a character for girls to rolemodel. Arcee, other fembots and Air razor are more admirable.

The first time I heard Magma speak I thought, "Crap, I'm going to have to sit through this entire game listening to Elmyra from Tiny Toons."
Her voice really grates on my nerves and as everyone has pointed out, barring maybe Penny from Inspector Gadget, she sounds exactly the same in everything and has no range.

Ironically the last time Weird Al was involved with Transformers, he contributed his song "Dare To Be Stupid" to the 1986 Transformers movie soundtrack during the Junkion scene and is now playing a character that was then a Junkion warrior, Wreck-Garr.
While you're thinking about that, you better squeeze all the Charmin you can while Mr. Wimpole's not around.
