Well, if you're going by the post-Beast Machines Botcon comics, there's also:

Arcee
Devcon
Trailbreaker
Sideswipe
Sunstreaker

I assume you mean G1 characters who've been alive throughout and not been killed off and resurrected in the time between G1 and Beast Machines.

in the BM flashback scenes was that really soundwavehelping to evacuate when megatron attacked, and did he die doing this or survive (I don't remember, but sort of think the scene showed him dying). Did the post BM comics reference this any?

Well, he wasn't alive, but I am positively sure saw Prowl's shell in the junkyard. A few times. I could've just been seeing things, but I always thought I saw old G1 characters shells in the junkyards.

naw, I doubt he got killed. There were alot of Prowl and Soundwave ( including red ones ) look alikes on Cybertron at that time. Plus the ones were saw were too small to be him. Though there was a 'Soundwave' laying on his back in the body piles in Revelations Part 1 and this one was based on the G1 toy, rather than cartoon appearence. :-?

Thats interesting.....

As a comander of a squad, I might just browse through junkyards, maybe I can salvage few warriors, just for fun of building a scrapyard warrior.Maybe I shall make few scrapyard drones in copy of Starscream? He shall be honored of that kind of ..........honor.........to be a model for a scrapyad warrior.... hahhahahahaha

I believe that the show creators stated on their web site that this was NOT intended to be Soundwave, but they reused his animation model from Beast Wars when he appeared on the Ark.

Alpha Trion and Unicron were part of Generation 1 and around in Universe, so one assumes they were alive in Beast Machines.

G1 Quake was remake into a Vehicon, so he was alive, but seemingly killed during Beast Machines.

According to the Timelines comics Razorclaw, Rampage, Divebomb, Headstrong and Tantrum are still alive. Presumably Tap-Out, Rook and Glyph were around in G1, we just didn't see them.

Tap-Out & Glyph left Cybertron when they went with others :BOT: 's to explore space, a program Rodimus Prime implimented during his tenure as :BOT: leader. They disappeared and were not seen for 300+ years.

The question was who was alive during Beast Machines. Glyph and Tap-Out were not on planet, but they were alive.

As for Quake, read Transformers: Universe - The Wreckers comics for him. He was made to replace Tankor, but he was killed shortly after he came online by the Wreckers.

Cyclonus is Skywarp, alive or dead.

Anyway, surviving Autobots and Decepticons were downsized into protoform robots. Even if they didn't have beast modes, they would still have been smaller than G1 TFs. They may have retained appearances resembling their G1 likenesses, but at a smaller size. As to who was alive, any Autobot killed in the Movie with the exception of Optimus was burned up in a star (sad moment). Decepticons may have been reformatted (I still believe that Waspinator was Insecticon turned Sweep turned Predacon). Still, we must look at who was still alive before Beast Wars, probably going to Japanese or European storylines for post season 3 events. Of course, many new TransFormers were created before BeastWars, and others may have been on Cybertron without cartoon knowledge. After the mostly unpopulated appearance of pre-movie cartoons, I mean.

Actually according to the Wreckers comics Cyclonus and Skywarp were different guys. They both appeared together. I think the writer of that comic went with Cyclonus being Bombshell.

I seriously doubt really anything that came out after
since the end of G1 season 3(+) can fairly be considered
"canon", and a lot of that season was pushing it pretty
hard. All the "G1" stuff since beast wars has been pretty
hit or miss as far as doing the the original source material
justice. But that is just my take on the matter.

Some of us don't count the G1 cartoon as canon either... it's the Marvel UK comic all the way! :D

If you only cound the 1980's cartoon as real then this thread is silly, since it's talking aout BEAST MACHINES!

Actually looked more like Smokescreen's and Bluestreak's shells to me...or their descendants...
