So are these spotlight issues just about their history and how they came to be? I havent been keeping up with all of the latest comics, and as some of you might know, Im trying to compile pics so I can get a Soundwave tattoo in the near future.

They're not necessarily histories of how the characters came to be. They're just single issues centred on any given character. Most of them to date have taken place in IDW's "current day", or near enough, and I don't think any of them have been strict origins. They do, however, offer an insight into the spotlight characters' motivations and personalites, indicating what drives them or why the do what they do. In that respect, they hint at the characters' beginnings, but they are just "Spotlights", not "Secret Origins".

As far as I'm aware, the only origin proper that we'll see in the near future is the Megatron origin which [I think] begins in June.

Soundwave's is out now, and they're all worth a read, in my opinion.

Okay, now that we're here, you may find this thread about the Soundwave spotlight interesting / useful.

Eh, the issue was ok. I picked it up and thought it was worth the money but by no means lived up to expectations.

Im still looking for the proper picture of soundwave to get inked on me.
