had the g2 comic continued

would optimus and megatron have each come full circle in character development had the g2 comic lasted long enough.

when it comes to those 2 as they have been portrayed over the years throughout the entiriety of the generation 1 mythos the 2 have gone from being enemies by society to being somewhat embittered lifelong adversaries to one another .when it comes to how each was raised by his society to have a very black and white view to have a all together limited view of his counterpart and counterparts society and when it comes to how each societies social views morale beliefs and political idealogies so thoroughly and contradictingly oppose each other on every level as counterweights and opposites.

as lifelong mutually embittered adversaries each has been forced by his counterparts actions to not only realise they make far greater allies but also have an entirely thorough understanding of one another and at times a thoroughly unquestioning mutual trust in each others abilities as a warrior and a leader to keep one another alive whenever each finds himself having to literally trust his life in his opponents hands and had it not been for their societies setting each against the other in another lifetime the 2 might very well have been distant comrades that instead would have stood on the same side of the same warfront.

theirs is an alltogether warped and sordid form of comradeship and brotherhood that each shares with the other as one fellow respectable warrior to another. one that i believe had the g2 comiclasted long enough would have brought each of them full circle in character development.

one is the true warrior at heart and the other the true leader at heart.

so i ask you this

which is the greater warrior, the 2 who are each the greatest living imbodiment of their fueding societies views, beleifs and idealogies who allow their societies to dictate and to decide their fate in life?

or the warrior who is the combined living imbodiment of each fueding societies views beliefs and idealogies who has somehow succeeded in find equal balance within himself.

in a way it would be like the retired american and soviet general who during their lives outside of the military each come to slowly realise through a series of meetings between one another as civilians that neither one of them was entirely in the right or in the wronge for the most part.

had the g2 comic lasted long enough optimus and megatron would have at some point each found themselves to one degree or another slipping into a dual sensie/student role. each finding himself simultaneousely teaching to and learnig from his counterpart over time with each coming to have an all together thoroughly unhindered view of one another and havign an all togher new level of respect and a greater understanding of one another. the true leader and the true warrior each becoming equal parts true leader and true warrior.

each realising that they are more equals then opposites to oneanotherand that the only way thier mutual people and society can advance as a species is for them to reinteigrate their fueding societies into the single cohesive hole which the 2 socieites were originally 2 seperate halves of.

neither of them quite seeing one another as aenemy but not quite as a friend instead each simply seeing the other as a somewhat close comrade and as a true ally.

in the end when prime entered jinwan after simon furman wrote alignment it was megatron himself who first greeted him as a friend just as it was megatron who died the hero for his fellow cybertronians and people. both autobot, decepticon, non alighed and nuetral alike.

so it's possible that the mutual dual sensei student role would have happened between the end of g2 and alighnment had the comic lasted long enough.

as for megatron he stirkes me as being in some ways all to close in character to the soviet general who somehow manges to be both respectable in some ways and honorable in other ways despite hishavign been born and raised amember of coummunist society and his rank in the soviet armed military forces.

while in other ways megatron stirkes me as being that of the shogun era samurai warrior.

ifanything its makes for a fitting comparison to optimus primes paladin night and american general like character.
