New G1 Transformers DVD Releases by Madman

Madman has announced they they will be releasing some new Transformers G1 DVDs this summer in Australia. Here are the details about the upcoming releases:

The first release is Transformers: The Animated Movie - Special Edition region 4 DVD. It is due for release on June 27, 2007 and is priced at $29.99. The following special features are included on this Special Edition DVD are:

Remastered theatrical widescreen and full-screen editions
"Scramble City" movie tie-in bonus episode
Cast and crew commentaries (TBC)
80's toy TVCs, TV spots and theatrical trailer
The Touch film-clip (by Stan Bush)
Character, voice-actor and musician biographies
Bonus episode of TRANSFORMERS: BEAST WARS
Reversible collector's cover

The second G1 release is the Transformers Generation 1 Complete Collection. This collection will also be released on June 27, 2007 and is priced at $149.95. The following special features will be included:

- Interviews with key figures from Transformer's 20 year history
- Animated Public Service Announcements

- Scripts & storyboards
- Interview and commentary with Voice Director Wally Burr
- Television commercials
- Limited Edition Packaging
- 16 page booklet containing exclusive comic by Simon Furman (TBC)

I would imagine most of us have the Rhino set already. Wouldn't think the extras are worth the cash (especially the Furman comic and a BW episode on a G1 movie). Really, marketing decisions often make no sense to me. Even now, I see TONS of the G1 movie sitting on shelves, goin' nowhere.

Sadly, I only bought 1st season and 2nd season part 1. All of them now go for quite a bit on ebay-$100. There is a official Hong Kong complete series that goes for like $70, but I really hope they do a US G1 Complete Set in the future.

im right there with you. I have season 1 and 2 but missing 3 and 4.

i have the chinese TF-G1 with all 98 episodes. the menu is in mandrid but the audio is in english. and i bought it from ebay at $37.75 thats with shipping and handling. also it was brand new. came with a color booklet. ill stick with this set till someone decides to re-release the whole g1 set. since i keep hearing that the rhino copies have errors on them.
