IDW questions

Guess what this is about.

1) We know when Shockwave, Soundwave and Magnus spotlights are set in relation to the mainstream series, but when are Hot Rod and Sixshot set?

2) If mass shifting is only available from using Ore13, how did Soundwave mass shift in his Spotlight when he hadn't even heard of Ore13/Ultra Energon until half way through his issue?

3) Hot Rod spotlight makes him out to be a loner who doesn't work with others because he doesn't want to deal with the responisbility of others. So why is he working with Hardhead in Escelation? It completely reverses what we learnt about him.

4) Who is Koska and why is it so important that the Russians don't shoot him?

The only definite answer I have is to the last question. Koska is one of the Decepticon's facsimiles (Like, fake humans) and if the Autobot's got a hold of him they could decode his genetic make up or something and then they're be able to scan for all the other facsimiles on Earth and stop the Decepticon's plans for destablising Earths countries.

I have a guess for the Soundwave one, 'cause he's an high up in the ranks and such Megatron might have given him more energy to use om the mission. Its not that they can't mass shift without Ore-13, its just that is uses so much energy they have to do it sparingly y'know?

Hope that helps.

1)most of hotrods was a flashback and I would guess Sixshots is set in present time.

2} I don't remember Ore-13 being the only way to mass shift. Mass shifting just takes a lot of power, from what I've read.

3) He was assigned to Earth with Hardhead. He may like to work alone, but that wouldn't mean he gets to all the time.

4) Koska is a blueprint that the Autobots can use to track all other Fakes on earth.

Yup. My theory is that Soundwave was created as a mass-shifter, whereas Megatron has been engineered for that recently and is less efficient -- plus pumped up on the new fuel -- Soundwave and the cassettes don't suffer from the transformation feedback problem Megatron has, either...

Hot Rod's gotten some of his pep back since rescuing Doubledealer.

Koska seems to reveal the flaw in the Decepticons' facsimile process -- they aren't entirely human. Presumably the 'Bots need this one because they haven't encountered human FCs before (whereas they'd be familiar with the genetic coding for FCs of other alien species.)

Makes sense to me.

Thanks. I missed Esc#3 where they explained mass shifting and about Koska so I was just going on what I picked up. And if mass shifting just takes up alot of energy, that explains why Soundwave has those strange energy beams coming out of him when he transforms. But what's this transformation feedback problem Denyer mentioned?
