Is Black Arachnia actually Elia-One?? Or did BA manage to steal Elita's mimic power?
So many questions!

Oh my, it IS Elita-One!

Wow! Awesomely great episode!

Amazing episode I love how they include Elita-One as autobot who became Black Arachnia. Even though as soon as I head Elita-ones voice I new she was going to be Black Arachnia. I hope she joins the autobots at some point that would be so cool.

OMG!!!
Blackarachnia is Elita-One!!!!
OMG!!!
And Sentinel Prime... I found out why he looked so familiar!!!
He's Dion!!!
And I found out why he's such an ass to Optimus!!
Cause he's a dumbass!!!
i do feel sorry for him though...

But that episode was so awesome!!!
my jaw dropped almost as much as Bulkhead's did.

Sentinel Prime acts like Flash Thompson.
Why does Black Arachnia's feet look like high shoes?
This show makes me say "Thank God for IDW" every week.

funny when prime says 'no amount of history (or energon) is worth this' I immediately thought of a bunch of americans in england in an english pub attempting to keep up with the locals in a drinking match! ive seen it and its quite amusing.

Nothing really earth-shattering here; and kinda predictable. Still, it was good watching it.

Predictable?? What the heck?

If *YOU* could see Elita-One becoming BA, then I really need your crystal ball. This has never been done before, so, no, its NOT predictable. And saying that it is is just being an apathetic jerk.
To GrimSqueaker: I'm sorry. Every other thread about individual episodes have been spoiler-filled discussions of said episodes, so I thought it was just a given.

Good episode. It is interesting to see Prime in such a compromised position.
However, I have one question: How did Black Arachnia get to earth? Why is she there? Does she know Megatron is there? Where is Starscream? I guess I have many questions. We've spent so many episodes focused on the Autobots and human villains (besides Megatron), the rest of the Decepticons have really dropped off the radar.

Hey, i just realised something. When Elita was "reformatted" (in a VERY creepy way), she became techno-organic like the Maximal in Beast Machine. Then, it is mentionned their sensor did no detect her.
Do you see why? In Best Machine, techno-organic cannot be detected by Vehicon when they are in Beast Mode! See, there is a Beast machine referrence..
This show amaze me!

I thought it was predictable to a certain degree. Before the episode aired the thought never crossed my mind, but when I saw Elita-1 I KNEW she wouldn't make it through the episode, cause this was her firt mention. But I didn't catch onto her becoming Black Arachnia until Prime got to the Decepticon ship, and I saw her helmet laying beside a pile of Energon Cubes.
It's a great plot twist, and her being Prime's former girlfriend means that Animated Black Arachnia has the potential to be as good or even better developed than her Beast Wars counterpart. Animated really is getting better and better...

It was a awsome episode, I still love the G1 version of Prime and Elita more, but this new one is just as interesting and tender. I also thank IDW comics a lot.

Im posting this again here in this thread cuz the Offical TF Animated thread is like 80 Pages long. It seems a little more fresh here.
"Along Came a spider"
Wow that was actually kinda Good (about half way through).
So Blackarachnia is Elita One?
IS that ever told in any Transformers Universe, Elita one becoming a Decepticon? Did they just make that up now?
I dont know if I like that idea.
So Elita One's charachter from past Generations cant ever reprise and an Autobot.
Crazy.
Prime Left Elita One?! A Real Optimus Prime with Balls (played by Peter Cullen) would never do that! What a WUSS!
Why were they Having a Halloween Episode in the Middle February?
I wish they would have them Transform correctly instead of this Blurred Transformation they keep doing. I know peoplel talk of G1 Animation sucking but atleast they artistically made their body parts actually go into places.

Not only did they state it in the other thread. They obviously
were not paying attention. Optimus scanned for her and after
not reading her "energy signature" said she was dead.
G1 Prime would not have risked himself and most particularly
not risk a colleague (dunderhead or not) to dig out wreckage
of the dead on a planet that has lifeforms that are sizable
enough to harm a cybertronian. In poker it's summed up as:
"Never spend money you have to get money you lost." An
officer trainee would understand the concept of "Unnecessary
risk avoidance".

Why are most of you so supprised that they did something new for a change?
The show's name isn't "G1 recycled for the millionth time".
Anywho, I thought that this was a pretty good. and some other nice trivia:
- This marks the first time that we see a comic-only and a cartoon-only character interact on screen at the same time. Sentinel Prime previously only appeared in G1 UK comics whereas Elita One only ever appeared in the original G1 cartoon.
- The Giant spider seem somewhat similar to the giant spider in "The return of Optimus Prime".
- The Energon cubes look like they did in the G1 cartoon.
- The purging of Black Arachnia's organic side seems similar to how BM Megatron tried to purge his own organic side. Both of them failed because the organic half was part of them (though Megatron cheated by transferring out of his body eventually).
- Elita One has the same head as her "Ariel" incarnation from the G1 cartoon.

Not 100% correct.
The character of G1 Elita 1 did appear in the final issue of Dreamwave Comics Generation One ongoing comic [ not to mention all the advertisments from DW ] but she didnt have a speeking line.
Chromia, Firestar and Moonracer also appeared in that same book.
She also appeared in IDW's Megatron origins mini.

not 100% correct either.
DW's G1 ignored all the comic only characters (though sentinel appeared briefly in War Within). No comic only characters ever appeared in the DW G1 comic. But most of the cartoon only characters did.
We did see Elita One and Sentinel Prime at the funeral scene in Megatron Origin. But this was mostly a cameo and she didn't interact with any of the characters.
Hence why I stick by my statement.

So just how am I wrong????When all I said was that Elita 1 is not a "cartoon only character" you said she was.
I made no comment about Sentinal at all.

Sentinal was a big part of the story of IDW's Megatron origin and Elita was crying on the sholder of a bot that looked like Orion Pax.
I call that "interacting" but like I said "she had no speeking lines" so again I aske how was my statement not 100% correct???

Oh and I forgot.....Buster Witwicky was mention in the Dreamwave comics and was said to have joined the army at the begining of the first mini.
Late in the ongoing we see a high ranking army officer with the name
"Witwicky" on his tag.
My guess that was Buster. But theres no way of knowing 100%.

Maybe I should have written it differently. I should have written it as non toy characters that first appeared in either cartoons or comics.
Elita One was nothing more then one of the countless cameos in Megatron Origin.

Then he was the only one to appear. But tons of other characters like Xaaron, Impactor or Straxus were pretty much ingnored. They didn't even get a cameo.

Yeah I dont think she got a toy till the Movie repaint of the Energon Arcee mold.

True

I would have loved to see Straxus.

I liked this episode, it did have a very mature feel to it, particularly the flashback to Elita-One's 'reformatting', and her crying at the end.
Yay Sentinel Prime! I'd only ever heard the name before, I didn't actually know how he was. I know it's unlikely, but I really hope they do a toy of him, I'd definitely buy that!
As for why there was a hallowe'en episode in February? I guess the writers thought Hallowe'en was the best time to introduce Blackarachnia, and they didn't want to wait till October to make an episode about her. Maybe in the future Hallowe'en will have replaced Valentine's day?
PS: I know this episode wasn't actually Blackarachnia's introduction, because she was in the first episode, but this is the first time we find anything out about her as a character.
