forgive me if this has already been talked about or not...but since my post asking this same question was deleted off of tfwires forum...i'll ask here and hope someone can answer.

Is this weeks episode "sound and fury" the first appearence of soundwave?

Yes.

Spoilers below?

As the episode summary said, Sari gets a new toy. Well, it's Soundwave. he's really small, but she uses the key on him. Megatron has some kind of plan involving Soundwave and a new body. Soundwave starts controlling robots and only Bulkhead realizes at first that Sari's little pet is causing big trouble. I don't know if Laserbeak appears, but I don't don't think so. Soundwave gets a huge body and then becomes his vehicle mode.

Would be awesome if his toy form would be his G1 body!
It would be nice little nod to it, a smal toy robot that changes into a tapedeck!

Uh no he won't be, sadly.

As what the toy looks like. He'll definitely won't be a tape deck :-(

Oh I know what he looks like, just Omega Charge said that the scion thing will be his new big body!
And if you look at his toy you can see that it's a super homage to G1 Soundy, it's covered in pseudo tapedeck stuff!

A vehicular soundwave would be good to me if he's voice wills ound close to his G1 counterpart.

Holy ****, the "We are experiencing Technical Difficulties" sign had Kremzeek on it.

This is the best TF series since Beast Wars, it's official.

Well, his G1 alt mode did make at least a couple appearances in the episode as well as this is the first time Soundwave has sounded like his old self. This episode was probably the biggest nod to us old school fans in this current series so far.

I loved the episode especial when they included soundwave's old alt mode at the end and the fact that We are experiencing Technical Difficulties" sign had Kremzeek on it. I can't wait to see what other nods to the g1 era will be coming up in future episodes.

This episode was flipping amazing! Lots of winks and nods to G1. Thought the power Princess was pretty funny. Not really a nod to any Transformers show, but she was riding a My Little Pony, and she was voiced by one of the Rugrats.

Yeah, this one I wasn't expecting. We knew they were going to pay homage to G1 Soundwave, but I didn't expect them to throw Kremzeek in there. Nice touch.

They did throw tape deck soundwave in there alot too. The box he came in was the tapedeck. I actually thought it was him at first, since Megatron explained that Soundwave is going to evolve into the Animated form we know. I thought G1 Soundwave would evolve into Animated Soundwave. But no, just a fancy box. The box even sudo transforms just to screw with the G1ers. But then at the end of the episode, Soundwave actually IS the tapedeck! I think they should have just made his box a regular box, and kept the ending the only homage to the tapedeck. That way all the G1 fans would think it's over, and then they all jump out of their chairs screaming, "OMG! It's Soundwave is G1!"

I was hoping he'd transform too and waddle off to Megatron. That would be cool, because then Megatron would have Decepticon to help him in the Lab. He could hide as a tapedeck when Sundac is around and help Megatron build his body.

BTW, did anyone catch Daniel at Sari's party? I think there are more homages, but I can't remember them.

Overall it was a good episode, although I thought how it began with the little girl "super villian" was very lame. However, that part of the show isn't that long, and its all uphill from there.

And, oh, yeah, I did see Danial. That was funny. ;)

Since Soundwave ends up looking like his G1 radio/tape deck at the end, it would be interesting if, if we see him again, he starts out as his G1 version, and has to "regrow" himself a larger body.

Surprisingly, Soundwave's true form still transforms into a radio; his upgraded form turns into a Scion xB car.

That makes everyone happy. :D

Yep, this was the clencher episode for me, best so far, and I hope it just keeps getting better and better. Everything about the episode was great, they really packed a lot into it(sadly no Laserbeak, but that's at least something else to look forward too on his next apperance).

The only flaw is the art style is a hinderance sometimes because it's so comical. I couldn't help but laugh when the robots were telling Sari to perish, even though that was quite a dark moment. But if it wasn't for the art style, I probably wouldn't have liked Pretty Princess, who is so weird and random that I hope she comes back in the episode where all the human villians band together.

I still like Beast Wars better. At times, Transformers Animated is a little too goofy and kid-oriented for me. Pretty Princess is a good example. That was weird and made no sense unless the writers wanted to do a bit of a commentary on boys vs. girl toys.

No appearance by Lazerbeak in this episode, unfortunately. I kept waiting for it. All the nods to G1 Transformers were very fun.

"Aw great, now I have to fix him!"
Yea, cause that's just soooo difficult considering you have the magical-resurrection-allspark-key....

Quite a good episode, Animated keeps getting better ^^

I knew he would be a tapedeck!

I just freaking loved this eppy, "I am Soundwave" was a nice touch.

I just love how Kremzeek keeps appearing.

I just remembered another homage. The purple T-Rex pinata at Sari's party is either BW Megatron, or Barney. Probably Megatron.

The transforming sound when Soundwave is evolving via the help of the machines.

Soundwave's shoulder mounted turret/trumpet.

I kinda think Soundwave is a mixture of G1 Soundwave and Shockwave.

Alright Soundwave is back for a new Millenium!
Did you catch Kremzeek?!
IS he coming back though or is that it?
And where are the Dino's? what happened to them?
This is a slow build but it is getting more entertaining.

Probably the most reference-heavy episode thus far.

Another thing I liked was that Megatron's plan was entirely sound and waterproof. Even if Sumdac had questioned him about the toy design going crazy, he could easily have claimed that he didn't expect her to use that key on it, with it's unpredictable effects. This Megatron is a really sly snake. The only reason he failed was because he didn't participate Soundwave's sentience.

Amazing I'm going to watch it again tomorrow morning just so I catch the little things I missed the first time around. Can't wait for soundwave's next appearence, also can't wait for next week episode when we finally get to see blitzwing.
