So all the threads will be tied up with 4 Spotlights or is it "Expansion" wasnt mentioned because it doesnt end with "-tion"?

Wow! I know this means 4 good issues to look forward to, but I can't stand to think that it means an end to the current story arc. I'm in love with the IDW story, I need more!

all the plot threads will be tied up in four spotlights? color me skeptical. spotlights are fun fillers inbetween real arcs... but i can't see them finishing off the overall arc and continue it in the spotlight format. much less in only four issues. i mean, we've got:

autobots in space chasing a new threat
hot rod and headmaster sunstreaker on earth
skorponok's plans
the dinobot/shockwave/casetticon subplot
nova prime's plans
galvatron's plans
the stolen gestalt tech
arcee going after said tech
megatron's plans for earth/ore-13.

did i miss anything?

well, TF right now is too hot a franchise to just drop after one big arc. i'm betting after the so-called "-tion" arc we'll be seeing another big story broken up into mini's. even with the extreme re-imaging of TF in the furman-verse, it still looks like it'll follow a long term continuation similar to how G1 spanned decades. that's the vibe i get from it. think of this arc as the "intro" to a bigger world of furman TF. i'd bet my last energon goodie.

We do know that there will be an arc following Revelations, it's called Expansion. When Simon announced it, either on his blog or on idw's boards, he said that would finish up everything going on in the current stories. However, Ryall has just made the point to mention Revelations being the end of the '-tion' arcs. Whether he's hinting that it will tie up many of the plot threads, or is simply using misdirection again with word play is anybodies guess. But since IDW's response to Simon's mosaic 'Hail and Farewell' was that it was giving a taste of things to come for the next 2years, my guess is that revalations will tie up loose ends (with All hail Megatron dealing with those still on earth), and set up for Expansion to be the end all arc. I'm hypothesizing that the idea is to mop up any messy plot threads with Revelations and All Hail Megatron and let Expansion be the focused awsome Finale(current storylines not TF's in general) we all want it to be. But that is simply my best possible theory. Another idea i have is that AHM will set up Expansion while Revelations ties up all the non-Dead Universe plots, with Earth as a large part of the geographic focus for the Expansion since Galvatron saw fit to preserve the decepticons presence there.
