IDW's main man, reveals some interesting alternate covers for some of the upcoming Spotlights.

In his Blog at RyallTime, Chris reveals a couple of excellent covers by Nick Roche.





Mr. Ryall revealed in an earlier newspost here, the future of the '-ation' series will be in the form of four Spotlights of Sideswipe, Hardhead, Cyclonus, and Dealer.

It looks like Cyclonus has some history or future with a certain evil Prime, but we'll have to wait and see where all of that comes from.

I'm not too fond of Cyclonus' cover but Hardhead's is really nice. I wonder if he'll be a Headmaster in his spotlight.

Im not to fond of that type of art style in general, so it kinda loses me there.

I think I'll be collecting the fit together covers instead.

Is that Beast Machines Megatron in the back of the Cyclonus cover?

Wow these are interesting, you know now I'm really thinking Cyclonus is a Zombie, I mean look at his face in the EJ Sue cover, now this one having Nemesis Prime on it too, I think Cyclonus is just like Galvatron a Zombiecon!

its animated style what is with that come on cant we have a good old transformer cover.

This is definitely not animated style. Just because there are exaggerations in proportion doesn't mean it's on CW.

These pics arent to my taste, to 80s modern artsie, and that crap sucked.

That was one of my first reactions too!

I really like Roche's work, he has a style that is always subtlety changing, I prefer the Su covers over these, but they are in no way shape or form bad covers.

I'd actually quite like a poster of that Hardhead cover for my garage wall.

not a fan of how cyclonus looks in that, but i do like that type of style. transformers originated as a cartoon in the 80s, i don't see how people can be upset about seeing it in a newer cartoon style...

Different. I like the Hardhead cover! Pretty cool!
