my thought is it actually is pretty good and the artwork is amazing..... i dont like the jumping around of the storylines... it's too "all my children/soap opera" like...... i love the mars ending of prequel 3 though

I'm enjoying them. I haven't got #3 yet, but I thought the human stuff in issue #2 was more interesting than #1. I like the idea of Sector 7 (though it's not particularly original) and especially enjoy seeing the impact of TF's in fin de siecle America.

I just finished #3 five minute ago, and I think that I am going to like the movie, based on the movie so far. I'm still having trouble with the bot designs, but the story has ahold on me, and that's the important part.

I like the bot designs. The heads could have been a little closer to the originals, but over all they look like something that could be alien.

Well it's a good read, but nothing great.
I guess it will mean more when the movie comes out.

My thoughts are pretty much the same they were for the Animated Movie Adaptation: great artwork, but very little else that makes it worth spending twenty bucks to get.

I'd say overall the prequal comics are about as good as possible considering they're setting up the plot to a mindnumbing, blow-em-up, Michael Bay action film. The writing's good, but they feel a little empty. But i get the feeling that if Simon and Ryall actually went with a full out prequel rather than a set up for the film a certain toy company might be a little mad that their $100 mil+ movie was upstaged by a comic book. So they are what they are.

I sort of had this feeling as well. It's like Furman and Ryall are not fully realising what they want to do, because their constrained by the movie's story and also don't want to "show it up".

I wouldn't have been unhappy with a prequel series that connected only slightly to the film, such as the missions the other Autobots went on to other worlds to try to find the Allspark, but the producers would never have approved it, at a guess...
As it is, unless the script's changed a lot, the comics and novel are most of the backstory we'll be getting. My favourite issue so far has been #1, with things happening away from Earth.

I'd like more on the early days of Sector 7 as they find bits of TF's around the globe.
