Spike's Reveiw of Prequel # 3 (possible spoilers)

What I liked:
The flashbacks to the 1930's with Hover Dam being built just to hold Megatron and the Allspark. Gives it a whole Area 51 type feel.
The G1 cameos. Prime, Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Skids, and Bumblebee. My fiance thought I was reading a G1 comic when she glanced though it. Nice touch.
What I didn't like: The sector 7 agents refering to events that were caused because of Megatron. Are they going to tie into the movie, or ar they tied into the prequel novel?
In a nutshell: The Transformers are finally on Earth, in the form of Bumblebee. The government group Sector 7, is in pursuit, hoping to catch a second Transformer. Meanwhile, Sam Witwicky gets his grandfathers belongings, but is not interested.
And lastly, tieing in the teaser trailer to the story, the Decepticons Starscream, Barricade, and Blackout find the Beagle probe on Mars.

Oh, so
that's who those three were. And it was
they who did that. (I thought it was cause of Bumblebee cause of what happened at the end of the last issue.)
And speaking of Bumblebee, isn't anyone else real disappointed at how glossed over his Camaero (God, I hope I spelt that right) conversion was?
Of course, that doesn't raise my heckles nearly as much as the oh-so-very-obvious blatant placement of the movie's tag line. Ugh.

I've had reservations about that since the 5-page preview came up. O well, it's marginally better than saying "they're more than meets the eye", I suppose.

Not really. At least "More than meets the eye" makes some kind of sense (not that I know what exactly that sense is), wheras "Their war, our world" is little more than a reminder that a movie is coming out in less that three months.

I've really enjoyed all of the prequel comics so far, including issue three. It's finally something 'fresh' that's done right for a change. It's lightyear's past IDW's G1 comics (minus the spotlights, those are cool).

I liked the line, "Our boy is a mimic."
Nice to see the Cons too.

It was alright, the couple easter eggs were nice, but other than that I wasn't highly impressed, but it is moving along well, and seems to be getting us nicely set up for the movie, as it should be, I just need more 'bots than BBee I guess...

My favorite line/part was the 2 page spread reading, "Their War. Our World."

I only knew it was them becasue of the Preview Starscream toy.
you're right about the tagline placement. It just didn't seem to work.

Seeing as I don't think I'll be reading the prequel before the movie comes out (damn law classes taking up my time) can you or someone pm me the spoilers?

I'll go home and take a look tonight, but it is clearly a cab over type with the sleeper unit on top, and a split trailer like MM...I know it was a page or two after the others appeared.

I forgot to look at home, but I am pretty sure it wasn't the mobile headquarters.

Heh... missed him the first time through.
(Ed: he's on the road in the bottom panel of page 11. Look left of the 'Tranquility, Nevada' sign.)
Anybody else think the 'Shwiggle' hackjob was really badly done? The fonts didn't match and the alignment and spacing were out. It just looked... crap.
It's worrying that I'm finding the Easter eggs more interesting than the actual comic... One side of me is going, "Look! Don! Josh! Furman!", but the other is going, "Superficial movie setup. Movie designs. Meh."

Wow, I feel like the only person who's enjoying this. Issue #1 was boring but I've liked the later issues. I also quite like the movie designs, with the exception of Bumblebee and Starscream (though the latter looks much better in comic form).

I'm enjoying the prequels too. In fact, I'm finally reading the prequel book.
