Question. Are the Animated episode now considered season 2?

Starting with last Saturdays episode "Return of the Headmaster" is this considered the first episode of season 2 or is it still considered season 1? I'm confused because there was a break between the episodes and they seem to be extended. The reason I'm asking is because I am recording and editing out all the commercials out of all the eps to make them DVD friendly for my personal viewing pleasure and when I label the episodes I want to correctly label the season and episode name and so on. Any advice is appreciated. :)

Officially, Season 2 began with The Elite Guard (That being the episode whee Ultra Magnus, Sentinel Prime, and Jazz come to Earth) while the last episode of Season 1 was Megatron Rising Part 2.

A lot of people consider them to be one season, though. However, a usual TV is usually in the mid-teens. Also, it's officially considered two seasons.

Yes, everything after Megatron Rising pt 2 can be considered TF Animated Season 2.

Like many animated series, a season is considered to be anywhere from 12-18 episodes long, not 20-24 like it used to be.

I do believe we are. I suppose knowing that helps us interpret a lot of the info given us at the CN panel.

So we would assume if they released a DVD set in a few years "The Elite Guard" would be episode 1 of the season 2 release then?
