Well I haven't really been on the comic/graphic novel scene much i just bought a few graphic novels now and then like the TF evolutions hearts of steel, war within, Megatron Origins and some others. I always had the impression after reading the war within vol 1 that dreamwave didn't really publish good stories.

I've just started reading this mini series and all i can say is...OMG... its like the best comic series I've ever read  nothing else I own compares to this, i've just finished the 5th comic and man is it epic, can't wait to read the 6th and final comic but its built it up so much i can't wait to see what happens! its like every comic ends with a suspense filled cliffhanger, glad i don't have to wait a month for the next one lol.

I'm glad that I decided to read it and just to add a more dramatic twist to it i read each comic while listening to the Steve Jablonsky TF movie score. It just makes the whole experience more epic for me because the music fits the scenes so perfectly.

I just had to share that, Chris Sarracini is a great writer and the visuals by Pat Lee are just astounding :)

Can you guys tell me if the other 2 volumes of dreamwave's generation 1 series are as good as the first? I really wonder how they could have gone bankrupt when the quality of the product was so good :?: (well apart from War Within XD)

Well, I consider Dreamwave's G1 Volume 3 ongoing series to be the best TF comic art available, where IDW's G1 series has no comparison. So hats off to Don Figueroa. Unfortunately they are only available in single issues and not in tpb. Volume 2 is still quite good and comes as a tpb, either by DW or IDW's reprint.

OMGSPOILERSPANIC Scroll down if you've read it.

Don't you just love Meg's attitude in that mini-series? You try to control Megatron you're going to end up on a leash!

The Seeker trio look like evil cherubs or something, simply devilish.

Plus, Spike? I've never seen him fly off the handle at Prime like that!

i can definatly reckomend volume 2, and it introduced even more characters from cybertron too!

as TazD has said volume 3 was supposed to the ongoing series that takes place after volume 2, but it was only done in the comic issues, so it'll mean you've got to do alot of tracking down for them!

cool thanks for the info guys, definately looks like its worth tracking these comics down i was lucky to get the first set from a friend.

just love the way the characters are portrayed, that megatron bit was awesome lol i was like "no way man megatron ain't never gonna bow to you!"

and i like the way prime feels vulnerable after hearing spikes words, like he doesn't know what to do and tries to resolve it using battle protocol.

i liked the ending too very good, won't spoil it (although i probably am one of the last fans to read it XD

Wait...you didn't like War within, and yet you HAVE a copy.

Life ain't fair.

Still, your right, the other TF comics were pretty good from them. Prime directive was fun for the sheer sake of getting a new comic, and the prime vs devastator sequence if nothing else.

As to the art, it is always nice to see what a hundred people working as Pat lee can do.

What was up with the gigantic Devastator in the SF Bay by the golden gate bridge? Every time I visit San Francisco and see the bridge, I'm blown away by how giant he was in Prime Directive. A 'bot is more than the sum of his parts indeed!

I thought the first post was a joke! Liked this atrocity to all things Transformers (and sensible plotting)!?! Really??

Go to tfarchive.com and read the reviews which pretty much sum up everything wrong with this mini-series (and there's a HECK of a lot)...

But hey, we're all allowed to like different things...
