Transformers: Animated Season 1 Release Date Announced

TVShowsonDVD.com has posted a Paramount Press release for the first season of Transformers: Animated, announced earlier at the year at Botcon. The press release states that the release will be a two disc set that will be released on <b>August 19th</b>. As previously stated, this release will NOT contain the three episode “Transform and Roll Out” premiere episode, to be released on DVD separately on June 17th. Wow I didn't expect it this early

I mean won't CN rerun those episodes until season 3 appears

True but this is Paramount we're talking about here. A company known for releasing hit movies from 5-15 years ago (films like Braveheart, Face/Off, The Untouchables, and others) and just now releasing them on 2-Disc DVDs with a few more special features than their standard one disc versions (which cost $20 USA).

On the old one disc versions maybe you basically got the trailers as the special features and maybe a commentary track (as in the case of Braveheart).

So 13 episodes spread over 3 discs, with Disc 1 only containing the 3 part opening?

At least it shouldn't take up too much shelf space then.
