IDW Publishing's Editor in Chief Chris Ryall has updated his blog RyallTime and given us our first look at the upcoming variant covers for All Hail megatron #5 and #6.

Both covers are drawn by Casey Coller (Spotlight: Blurr) with Joana LaFuente on colour duty.

We lose Optimus Prime and we get a.... surprisingly upbeat and youthful Kup?

I'm not gonna complain 'cause more Kup action is long overdue, but WTF?

Man i wish we could fix our bodies like TF's can. We'd have Paul Newman for atleast another 200 years.

That's him. He's an IDW original character who, in theory will be getting his own Universe Toy.

Cool. Kupps better, and Drift!!!! Looks very cool, Hot Rod's on Cybertron. Well this got a bit more interesting all of the sudden!

Oh and Springer too. (Can't forget to mention one of my all time favorite characters)

I really hope that these covers have something to do with the series and aren't just more lovely Coller artwork. Having Kup up and running again makes me very happy.

ok the first picture reminds me of the A-team so much :

kup= Hannibal

springer= B.A. Baracus(Mr. T)

blurr= either face man or Merdoc, either way it is a toss up.

You knew Springer wasnt ever going to give up on Kup.

Looks like Springer, but once when I looked at it, I thought it was Blurr.

Is prime going to be killed off ?

As much as a Con guy I am, I'm really missing the Autobots in this lame duck story so far. Really interested to see how they get Kup back. Lovin the cover. I'm also eagerly anticipating the 1st appearance of Drift. And he's got 2 SWORDS!! Niiiice!

Anyone else notice the scattered Insecticon limbs? That plus Drifter's Japanese car altmode lead me to believe they are still on earth. Unless some of them went back to Seibertron, but there's really no reason to.

Since I started buying TF's as a kid I've always bought Decepticons almost as a rule. But if Drifters toy is anywhere near as cool as that cover, he can consider himself mine.

We are supposed to learn why the Autobots abandoned Earth and are back on Cybertron. Many of them who were on Earth will still have their Earthen modes.

As for why DRIFT has one, well, we'll have to wait to find out more about his character.

Yeah, I noticed the limbs too. It's a nice way to show the kind of damage DRIFT can do.
