SPOILERSSSSSSS

Spotlight Sideswipe-Revelations #4

I hated this issue. I did. It was too short. Too crammed. Too much, and yet not enough. Everything wrapped up too nicely, too quickly, and I have to read it again, but I'm still not sure if SS, and SS are brothers...or just combat brothers.

I absolutely disliked how each character from the Dead Universe was so easily dispatched just like that.

The only one I was sort of satisfied with was Jhiaxus and Arcee. Still not enough though. Arcee had better move on...get over it, and try to do something with herself.

And unfortunately as so many accurately surmised, we have no idea what has put Prime in the state he is in for AHM.

And now we have two Cybetrons? Is the Former Gorlam Prime...well, did they look transtechy to you? Are they Transformers, or will they be like Kranix and Arbulus in the 86 movie, robotic, transform, but not of the transformer race?

So so so sad....

TFA Arrival-

Not as good as previous issues in the beginning, but Ratchet's Cosmic Rust story was good. Poor guy keeps getting taken advantage of. Guess that's why he is so crotchety, and mean, and untrusting now.

Saga of the Allspark

Both were decent enough stories... certainly enjoyable to read.

Sideswipe was it for me. I'll try to read it a couple more times, but I don't think it will help. With the cast of thousands, the 3-4 stories they are wrapping up, and the many they are still leaving unwrapped, it ultimately disappointed me.

Even the artwork while good, was not what I wanted to see in this issue.

I need help getting through this. I know some of you out there had to enjoy it, and can help me see the good in the whole thing.

Someone at IDW needs to learn about quality control. The copy I bought (and thankfully, was able to return to get my money back), has a big tear though one page.

I can't wait for the Arrival TPB.

I thought Spotlight Sideswipe was pretty good, but it really didn't focus a lot on Sideswipe.
I really want to see more of Sue's interior art.

We knew that all of Revelations major points would get tied up. The Magnificence was the cure all McGuffin.

I can understand how the Dead Universe bots were taken care but the way has issues. Galvatron can take out a whole squad with ease. Cyclonus can destroy a ship by his lonesome but Sideswipe singlehandedly can beat down 2 DU bots long enough until they are in the normal universe too long and eventually die.

Cyclonus I can deal with since he was blown up right before the Autobot pretender left the DU.

With Nova Prime he was toast as soon as the Darkness left him.

The main qualms I had with the issue is such.

I have always been an Autobot guy but I find it hard to believe that they can execute a simultaneous, multi-planet, multi-stage plan without a hitch and without casualties.

Also,

1. Where did Jhiaxus get Bludgeon's body?

2. Where is the Matrix?

3. No recovery of Hardhead?

4. Galvatron isnt dead?

Sideswipe was adorable! =P~

Seriously, though I would have liked to see more back story on his beef with Sunstreaker. All I remember for backstory between the two is Sideswipe telling Streaker not to join the arena battles in Megatron Origins. Streaker was cocky their, granted but still not enough.

As for how powerful he was, I'm just playing along like I did while watching TF: Cybertron. If you belive in anything hard enough, you can make it real! That's the general idea...

Agreed on Arcee, she needs to get a life. Take it from me, it isn't all that bad being a girl. And she's all "He made me female."

Still absorbing all that was wrapped up very abruptly in Spotlight Sideswipe. I could have done for at least two more issues to tie up the loose ends. Especially concerning how Nova Prime and Galvatron were defeated.

TF:A #3 -

First story was interesting, Stilletto wouldn't be that bad of a human villian.

Second story was pure gold. I feel like I finally know that funny looking green figure up on my shelf.

If I was given a forced sex change I'd be infinitely pissed as well and would have a plasma katana handy for anyone who told me to "get a life"

Transformers don't have gender. That's what everyone always tells us. In fact, they don't have genitalia, and do not reproduce sexually, so what you are suggesting is very difficult to do.

As much as I liked Spotlight Sideswipe I have to agree that it did feel rushed. They were originally going to have six issues for Revelation and I really think they could of done two more issues to make this story better. As it is, I think they did a good job wrapping up everything, though I think the defeat of Nemeses Prime and Galvatron could of been more drawn out, not so quick. Other then that though I think they did a good job finishing up the storyline.

Agreed, I think more backstory on Sideswipe and Sunstreaker would of been good, that seemed to over looked. I have to say I liked how the ydid the pretender shells for the Autobots, giant robots in giant armour battle suits is a very silly, but very cool idea IMO. I also thought that the way they resolved the story point with the micromaster Cybertron was cool as well. Makes you wonder about the Transformers Cybertron and their origins.

Spotlight Sideswipe:
What happened to Sixshot?
In one moment, he is a guardian, and than vanishes from the whole story...

But it looks Jhiaxus made Arcee to actualy have. That could piss her off.

In Spotlight Arcee Arcee specifically says that "she" is the product of Jhiaxus introducing "gender" to the Cybertronian species and that he "fundamentally tampered with Arcee's CNA.

If nothing else, it was a very beautiful book.

Spotlight Sideswipe had possibly the least amount of time for the Spotlight character which is a shame, considering that the Sideswipe/Sunstreaker interactions could have been a nice focus point in a later series, I have the feeling that it will be completely glossed over in AHM.

I think the part that surprised me the least, and the most at the same time was the return of Hardhead, I figured he would survive and return, but in the form that he has surprised me, from what I gathered he is now trapped on Gorlam Prime, to remain in that small chamber forever more. Didnt like how Arcee just ripped the Micromasters to shreds when they gave Nightbeat and Hardhead such a hard time.

Having the Dead Universe characters (bar two) die when their power connection to the Dead Universe is cut-off makes sense, but why the portal on Gorlam remains open does not mesh, but at least it gives Arcee something to do.

So we now have an AHM that we know will have to be heavy handed with the flashbacks if it is to tell us the story of the Autobot traitor, unless it is left for Furman to try and tie the two series together in a somewhat coherent manner in Maximum Dinobots.

And my money is on Shockwave to be the one who takes down Prime, although with the final survivor of the Dead Universe could also play a part in the future.

Finally made it to the comic shop and picked these up. Sideswipe what the hell, I'm not ever sure what happened. Is there a Matrix or what? They say the darkness was attracted to the matrix vacuum in Nova Prime and it then wanted to transfer to the new Prime. If Nova was the current Prime when he entered the the expanse did he not have the Matrix within him, did he leave it on Cyberton for safe keeping?

I agree with El Duque. Spotlight: Sideswipe was poor, it kind of reminded me of "X-Men: The Last Stand" in which there was so much going on, that plot and character development were completely thrown out the window.
