I know there's been much speculation about the status of Season three (since we've seen concept art, and "all-but-confirmed" from other sources), but this is what I think is the first confirmation of season three by Hasbro.
Part of the Q & A's with Hasbro with various sites, Unicron.com had an answer that caught my attention

Perceptor (and his 6-year old daughter!) ask: Can you tell us about your plans to produce female character toys for Transformers, especially including SARI but we’re also interested to hear about your plans for Arcee and Genaral Strika (as well as human figures such as professor Isaac Sundac, Capt. Fanzone and super-human villans like the Angry Archer.

HASBRO: Arcee is a fan favorite character and will become more fleshed out in the upcoming season of TF Animated. We have a toy planned for her as well. No Plans for Strika right now. As for the humans, as much as we would all want an Angry Archer figure, there are no plans to produce the humans.

Though the question was about toys, that's the closest I've ever heard of Hasbro saying that there is an upcoming season. I don't know if this has been reported yet, but I havn't seen anything anywhere else that has mentioned this blurb.

I thought the constructicons would be hard. 2 guys can't make devastator. However, Mixmasters vehicle mode, standing on its shovel looks like a foot, and the back of his mixer would be a good strong joint...

I done new it was official what is not official yet is the official "TV Air Date for Cartoon Network".

Only thing is known is it is sometime in "SPRING 2009".
(April, May, or June ???)

Also known is how many episodes is in it 13 like i guessed it right on the time frame and I guessed it right on how many episodes the season will be in it.

See awhile back I did a calculated guess of showing what animated would be like and I did it all the way up to season 5.

See I think the show could and may be ending as a 5 season show being 60 episodes altogether.

Cause they seem to be in no hurry to produce the next TF animation whatever or if it will ever be made.

Only things positively and are truley known are some characters which have been shown Hot Rod, Strikka, Blackout.

Also what is not known "What is season 3 about" I say it will continue to go into the whole "What is Sari Sumdac" also continue more on what happened after everyone got sucked into the Space-Bridge.

Devolop more on certain characters: The Dinobots, The Human Villians, Black-Arachnia, Lugnut, Starscream Clones, Mr. Powell, ETC.

Introduce new characters: Arcee, Perceptor, Hot Rod, Female-Red Alert, others who they are and what side they will be on is unkown.

I am just excited season 3 will be on but sucks it wont be on until spring 2009. Which is understandable cause animation takes from 10 to 11 months to complete.

Here is my TF Schedule if it is going to be a 5 season show.
Season 4 is a rumor right now and is spreading like wild fire among the web.
