The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. Though I'm not a huge fan of the pretenders or monsterbots - I DO like that mosaic! I thought that episode was one of the better ones in season (4/5?) for sure, and this is a good follow-up! Awesome.

Okay, so the Monsterbots were made by Primacron and the Quintesson scientist, and they kill the (first) Dweller?

Well, seeing as they just randomly appear from nowhere in The Headmasters series, I guess this is an interesting origin for them.

The Dweller could not be destroyed; the Monsterbots "just" made him revert to its "larvae" status; now the 3Faced Quintesson will be able to have it develop in the right way (i.e. this time he will put a leash to the beast).
By the way, you're right: this is just the first Dweller

Oh. I thought they killed the mama Dweller and that at the end was the baby Dweller that would grow into the one we see in the episode "The Dweller in the Depths".

I had guessed that the Quint planned to raise the baby better than the mama turned out, but wound up having it turn out just like its mama.

Given the limited space and the number of details I had to omit, this reading works fine just as mine!
