IDW Bludgeon Question

Hey all, just posting to let you all know I'm still here, I actually have a burning question that I want to see if anyone can answer for me, because it really has been bugging the slag outta me and it regards Bludgeon in the IDW continuity.

We first see Bludgeon in Spotlight: Shockwave and later in Stormbringer and in Spotlight: Soundwave. My question is what the frag happened to his face? I mean, he has no lower jaw, did I miss something? Was this ever explained in the IDW continuity?

Anyway, I'm off to work now.

Right now I'm just wondering what the frag happened to Bludgen at all? Once Thunderwing was raised as one of the gatekeepers Bludgen and his crew went MIA.

After the events of Stormbringer Bludegeon's spark was imprisoned on Garrus-9 (Spotlight: Arcee). It would be safe to assume that the surviving members of his followers were imprisoned too.

Jhiaxus somehow revived Bludegeon in Revalation #3 but it wasnt clear whether it was just Bludgeon body Jhiaxus was controlling or whether that body actually had Bludgeon's spark.

The only reference to prisoners escaping from Garrus-9 were, of course, Monstructor and Arcee.

After Jhiaxus "lost
control of Bludgeon (either it was Bludgeon, or the just the shell) one would presume he was recaptured and taken back to the oh-so-secure Garrus 9 facility.

However it was left unanswered, just like what happened to Sixshot, Thunderwing and Monstructor... who knows if anything will ever be said about what happened to these characters. (But I hazard a guess that Monstructor may make an appearance in the AHM fix up continuity errors [aka Coda] issues.)

Depending on the setting of Metroplex, we may also get a bit more info on what happened to Sixshot.

My impression was that Bludgeon's spark was incarcerated on Garrus-9 and that Jiaxhus only had his body (inner and outer shell). These he animated via remote control (for lack of a better term).

As to his face, well, my thought is that he possibly lost it in some dark ritual some time in the past. Maybe he tore it off himself to make himself more grotesque to others? Maybe it's a sign of the darkness within him? Who knows? Truth be told, I've kinda resigned myself to never finding out about a lot of the unanswered plotlines and characterisations that have been created in this continuity since "Infiltration" and then seemingly discarded at the beginning of AHM.

Whether it was self-inflicted or simply unrepaired battle damaged, it was never directly explained but was most likely just for aesthetic purposes. It really helped to build up the eerie 'cult' feeling towards his group. Like how old movies always present the pieced and tattooed shaman for the white travelers to encounter.

Wow, great answers, I always felt that it was the artists intention for us (readers) to leave it to our imagination as to what happened to him.

Bludgeon's missing mouth.............is just DonFigs reindition. The original toy portrays him as a visored like mech while this one(the robot mode anyway) is like an amalgam of the samurai armor plus skull head.
