So I bought this because I love the art and the covers, and also I wanted all the bonus materials....

SPOILERS ON BONUS MATERIAL...

The obvious covers, and then 3 extra pages. The one we saw with Perceptor and Blaster, and the next two are a two page splash of Omega Supreme, Superion, and Defensor deefending the ark from Bruticus, and Menasor...

So that was the explanation of why the Autobot powerhouses did not make it into the movie...

Nice art!

Sounds like a pretty weakass explanation to me.

Then again, should we have expected any better?

Yeah, it was... the dialogue was basically...

"We've got problems here of our own..."

That's a pretty long battle if you ask me, especially considering the time that passed during the movie, a few days at least...

I suppose we should be thankful that there was any bonus material, but I expected more things like this to be included in the comic adaptation, not just a rehash of the exact same scenes in the movie.

Were these failings editorial choices by Ryall et al or was it more the fault of Budiansky?

Does it matter?

Who knows, I'm just not sure why it had to be 'word for word' from the movie...the only difference were the three pages with additional dialogue, and a few dialogue boxes that allowed for transition and recap between issies, or parts they cut fromt he movie.

Mostly though, I wanted new character pics/depictions...we've seen so much unreleased ideas/storyboards/etc., I was just hoping for them.

I suppose I should be thankful that Snarl found his way through the whole comic book adaptation as opposed to his vacancy through most of the movie.
