If memory serves, Bludgeon is a vegetable after the pretender shell bonding. He was active in Revelation but only because Jhiaxus was controlling him. IDW kinda wasted him.

Well, it's not like he couldn't ever be revived from his vegetative state, he's just out to pasture, for now.

Maybe IDW could do something like having him recover from the Pretender process and have to deal with a mental link with Jhiaxus (or Jetfire???), something akin to the Ratchet/Megatron mental link toward the end of the Marvel G1 run. From what I can gather Sixshot may have recovered from being controlled (Megatron did mention him in AHM), so maybe after the Jhiaxus/Jetfire mental link(s) could have done something to jump-start his spark or something along those lines.

IDW didnt want to have all those gimmicky things, thats why they made pretenders and combiners failed expertiments, like in Stormbringer and Spotlight Optimus Prime. Bludgeon has always been a Pretender character and so it wouldn't be quite right to not make him a pretender

i thinks it would be completley right because pretenders was a bad excuse to use good characters and pump unuseful toys.

I think so far as disguise went the Pretenders were a bit of a naff idea, but as extra armoured suits, they seem fine to me, and some of them, particularly the Decepticon ones, had cool-looking shells.
