So I found Energon at Best Buy today, but they didn't have Armada. I see on most sites that they have Armada part 1 and 2 then Ultimate Collections for Energon and Cybertron. I've seen one episode of this series and that was so long ago I can't remember what I watched. So my question to all of you is should I start at the beginning or if I picked up Energon would I be completely lost?

Hey JeffX, Welcome to Seibertron.com. Hope you like it here.

Now to get to your question, when I first started watching the trilogy I started with Cybertron and while I wasn't completely lost, as the series can stand independently to a degree, it would be good to start from the beginning.

The toons weren't that great to me, but thats cause I really got tired of the japanimation style that was done, especially with the humans, its so 1980's Voltron to me. The comics were awesome though. I don't know if you're into reading comics, but I got all of the series on my harddrive at home, if you're interested, PM me.

I think it's a little easier to understand the Energon series if you've seen most if not all of Armada.
But like First Gen said each series can stand on their own pretty well.

I think it's better if you ignore Armada entirely. I was completly lost watching Armada and Energon actully made more sence to me after I completly ignored any relation to Armada.

There are verry few refrences to the Armada series, mostly useing the same characters and some of them, mainly Decepticons shareing the same molds but other than that Energon works preddy damn well as a stand alone series.

Armada just made no sence to begine with and adding Energon on to it just adds more to the allready long list of plot holes within the Armada series.

Personally I think watching Energon without watching Armada is like Beast Wars without G1, there are some refrences but compltely different story line.
