Id like to start a discussion about the original transformers comics from the uik and us back in the eighties. Im going to give my top 5 uk stories of the original run and would love your opinions on it

5 Enemy Action

THis two parter features Galvatron as he attempts to undermin e deceptricon commander Shockwave. As he approaches the base Shockwave sends out the seacons to engage him and of course they fail. Meanwhile on land the sparkler mini bots take on the firecons.

Great artwork throughout and we see just how powerful galvatron is as he defeats the seacons with ease.

4 Space Pirates

The planet quintessa is dying and the quintessons need a new planet.. on their list cybertron and earth

This epic story sees the quintessons coming so close to defeating the autobots and decepticons but thanks to abrief uniting of enenmies and the introduction of metroplex the transformers win the day

3 Time Wars

The tieing up of all loose ends concerning galvatron. This is epic as galvatron unites with his past self megatron and takes on the autobots and decepticons as a rift in time and space thretens to destroy everything

Superb fights and some big casualties as galvatron takes on all opposition including optimus prime in the first clash between the two. Superb stuff

2 Legacy of unicron

The return of unicron from the originakl animated movie albeit just his head as he plans to destroy cybertron again. Casualties include shockwave and inferno. witness a clkassic fight between bounty hunter deaths head and shockwave and the final destreuction of unicron as his spirit is absorbed by the creation matrix

1 Target 2006

The greatest epic in my opoinion sees the introduction of galvtron in the comic as well as cyclonus scourge hot rod kup blur and ultra magnus and we learn who galvatron really was. You know who he is transfans? He was....... i wont spoil it for the two people that dont know

I have tried reading some of the UK stuff before, but it was boring compared to the US comics. Even though Furman was responsible for the best of both. I've never read any of the above, but I do want to read Target 2006 and Time Wars as well as Dinobot Hunt. Those look interesting.

yes they are class. i did like the unicron saga in the us comic but the idea of optimus coming back yet agin at the end soured it somewhat. great artwork from andy wildman. i have most of the us comics but i grew up with the uk epics

Target 2006 is great. The artwork is iffy, but the storyline is well worth the price of the book.

I bought a few UK TF comics as a kid. They alienated me slightly at the time as they were dealing with characters I knew nothing about like Impactor.
