The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.

These are some of those stories. This is:

It should be noted that while this project has been recognized by IDW Publishing and Hasbro, none of the works presented have been commissioned or solicited by either company. The stories are not official canon, except where noted. These stories are the result of Transformers enthusiasts taking the time out of their busy days to contribute to a universe they love. No one has been paid for the production of these stories.

Very interesting. I like the use of the "inevitable and necessary sacrifice" concept in this.

Also... Sentinel could choose to be selfish and avoid the sacrifice, but this will not happen. As soon as he realizes that only his sacrifice will save Cybertron, he will gladly accept his own fate.
And Boltax knows that: the Source would not have chosen Sentinel, if he were selfish and self-centered.

Shameless self-promotion: this Mosaic is a prelude to a comic project about Sentinel's last battle, by the way.

An excellent Mosaic, one of the best, IMO. The writing is top-notch, and the artwork is absolutely spectacular. Love the use of Boltax.

And I thought it would be about Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime, but this is just as good.

It's all part of The Source's plans. :)

Great news! I eagerly await its completion.

I was expecting a HotRod/Rodimus mosaic. Nice trick there also, good mosaic.

Then look at it on its news page rather than its forum page.

Rodimus--you can always be lazy like me: right click on the image and go down to properties. You'll find the source URL. Copy, paste, click and you can go right there and enlarge/shrink, amuse yourself to your heart's content.

I liked the ending but it was a little slow to build. And the dialogue is a leeeetle bit stilted. I know, I know, it fits, but it's like trying a little too hard to be 'epic', when the whole story arc itself should be able to carry that off instead of abusing the passive voice. It CAN come across as pompous and not 'dignified' and 'heroic'.

HK, stylistics maven, hated by all.

Actually, I wasn't trying to be epic (at least not knowingly): I wanted to focus on Sentinel's dilemma (that he's unaware of, for now) and apparent predestination, and also on Boltax's dilemma (he know what is in store for Sentinel, he know it is necessary for a greater good, but he does not want to speed up things by revealing the truth, because doing so he will send his most beloved pupil to death). Hmm, maybe this is epic?

The middle part of the story is deliberately focused on the second panel, because it is meant to be a passionate fan-tribute to The War Within and Simon Furman's works.
Paradoxically, another fan complained about the fast pace and rushed dialogues that seemed in a hurry to reach the ending. ^^''

It CAN come across as pompous and not 'dignified' and 'heroic'.

I fear that my english is heavily scholastic and I can't come up with a more natural flow of words, sorry for that. I noticed this happen quite often with latin people writing Mosaics ^^'

Maybe it depends on how one likes/dislikes the characters and the story topic as well...
Oh, well, it's a free comic and can e easily forgotten as unofficial. Next time, Soundwave will tell a story about Megatron and Grimlock: maybe stiltness will feel right for once!
