ENI News reports that news regarding the next Transformers cartoon, and other Hasbro properties will be told at Hasbro's Investor Day event in Rhode Island, on November 5th. CEO Brian Goldner hinted that Transformers, GI Joe, and My Little Pony would all be returning to TV at some point next year, during a conference call. To read their full report

Now my question is this, if this is true then how long have they been planing it? It was decided earlier this year that TFA won't be continued and now they want to make a new one for next year. Didn't TFA take like 2 to 3 years to develop?
If this in in fact something completely new it might not be all to good or long. Or they have been working on it ever since TFA was first aired, which kinda sounds pretty mean.

I'm crossing my fingers.
I'm a relatively new fan-- didn't start watching ANY Transformers until after TFA was over-- and I would love to have the chance to follow a series on TV. So, yeah, I'll watch, even if it sucks.
Hopefully they'll have less humans in this one...

it seems odd they can pull out a new show so quickly after they decided to cancel animated. i know they could have had some early development before animated was canceled, which was still before any of season 3 even aired, but its still alot of work to cram into the time they have.
it would be what, 2 years at most if they release the new show next fall?

Eventhough I know it won't happen I would like to see the new Cartoon be darker and maybe themed towards older people. Sort of like the 80's animated movie. If they used the comics for source material and then made the show have that same sense of maturity it would be great. However at the end of the day I think Hasbro believes that the older fans are gonna buy whatever they shell out just because we're collectors and the bigger base to concentrate on are the kiddies. At the end of the day can we blame them? After all collectible is just a mature word for toy right?

No. No, no, no, no. NO!
There are only so many times they can re-hash Blackarachnia. She was ok when she popped up in BW, then she sucked as a maximal. Then she sucked harder in BM, then inm Universe as a repaint she sucked, and then in Animated she's even worse. We don't need more of that b!+c#.
Here's the most logical conclusion. They are going to skip showing transformers for the first three episodes so they can get some backstory on the humans, then the robots show up suddenly. The main action focuses around the love lives of the teenage human characters and their struggle of trying to live normal lives with giant robots wandering around shooting stuff. in around episode 22 we discover the faction names. Episode 49 would be a two part episode to introduce optimus prime and maybe two or three other members of the autobots (bumblebee and wheelie). The Decepticons are introduced but the only one that matters is Megatron because all he has are solders and minor goons that hang around for an episode and then are just background props for the autobots to shoot at. The series will end with Optimus about to finish off Megatron (now FABULOUSLY painted purple and named Galvatron) and Optimus is cut-off mid sentance when the screen turns black.
I've also got a car for sale.

Really hoping that the next series doesn't do what Animated did and wait until almost the end of Season 2 to get the toys in stores. Hopefully, they'll release the toys as soon as the show comes out. I mean, you know how little, little kids like to play along with the episode using their toys! How will little Timmy feel when he wants to reinact the first episode of Transformers: Unnamed and goes to the store, expecting to get that cool new Optimus Prime he just saw on TV, only to find an unpurchased Voyager ROTF Defender Optimus Prime sitting on that shelf?
"Mommy, where are the toys for the new Transformers: Unnamed series?"
"I don't know. How about this one here?"
*HOLDS UP ROTF SCOUT-CLASS SCATTORSHOT*
"No, Mommy, I want Optimus Prime."
"But he's $20!"
"Not that one, I want the new one!

"
That's not fair!
On a sidenote, does that mean that they will be releasing the new Animated figures earlier to make room for these? If so, then when? I WANT RODIMUS MINOR AND WINGBLADE OPTIMUS PRIME!!!!!

Not to nitpick, but all the report says is that there could be shows for these properties on the air. He didn't say these would be new shows.
It's entirely possible this just means that on their new channel they will reshow Animated and Sigma 6, or the Unicron trilogy with SpyTroops/VvV, until they a can start producing new items.
Seeing that at Botcon we saw a good chunk of the upcoming stuff, and Joecon showed stuff that isn't even expected until Q4 2010, would place new productions quite late in the year if we do get anything new in 2010.
(IMO here)
With the third TF movie already set, and with the delays to the animated line after the first, I can easily see Hasbro stretching NEST thru to mid 2010 and filling the 9 months after with a short Universe line before switching to TF3 in Q2 2011.

i agree.
i don't know about the rest of you guys but i liked TFA. the show had good storylines and the show needs an proper ending.
although a new show could be nice, i want Optimus Prime & Megatron as leaders and more of the two dueling. as an added extra: Primus vs. Unicron.

i'm surprised they never attempted a series based on the live action movies. at the very least that could signal Cullen's return to a TF tv series.
or instead of always creating new shows from scratch, do what they did with TMNT and He-Man, take the original show and just update/reboot it. again it could open the door for Cullen's return.

How much would a Classics/Universe based show rock?!
Hasbro could easily put classics/universe molds back into production to sell, and I would totally dig it.
Most likely thought, the channel will feature re-runs of G1, BW, RID, A/E/C and Animated at different times.

Exactly! Do what they did with He-man and Ninja Turtles. Those were great updates.

Exactly what I was thinking. Why do they keep starting from scratch with new versions of the concept. Do an updated G1 show, now that we've had 25 years to see what works and what doesn't, mythology wise, then put out Classic/Universe toys.

Sounds vague enough that it could also just mean open re-running of old shows too.
I'll wait for more solid news.

if they make it more darker and geared toward an older crowd then it will only be aired on adult swim late at night if it got aired at all and wont be very long lived.
either they continue with the animated series or maybe do one completely new

1) If they do a series based on the movies then they would have to share profits with Paramount, in other words, it's not in their best financial business.
2) It's been done already see

Anyone remember when I posted
this?:
Sabrblade wrote:Release the Japanese G1 series? This is very, very, VERY possible. Hasbro has stated that they DO have an interest in releasing them. Back in the December 2008 Hasbro Q&A, I asked the following question:
Sabrblade wrote:Since the Japanese-exclusive G1 cartoon series (The Headmasters, Chojin Masterforce, Victory, and Zone) were released on DVD in Europe and Australia, is there any hope of seeing them, and perhaps Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo, released on DVD in North America? Particularly the United States. From what we can tell, there is quite a demand!
And received the following answer:
Hasbro wrote:Hasbro has the rights to the majority of the past Transformers entertainment now, and we are currently formalizing a distribution plan globally. This doesn't mean that you will see everything at the same time - we are deciding when and where for the portfolio of entertainment.
So they are considering when and where they should be released. It may not be soon, but they could be on their way for release in the future.
To which Dead Metal replied:
Dead Metal wrote:Let me guess, Hasbro's own channel!
It's easier and cheaper to translate and dub a series than make one from scratch, that will give them time to create the next TF series and give them something to broadcast on their channel.
So, who knows. We just might be on our way to finally getting some never-before-seen-in-America Transformers series from long ago and far away.

Reshowing G1 with new dubs of the Japanese episodes would be great.
That said If they were to go back and rework G1, I would hope that they would try to get as many of the original VA's back and redub their lines to rework/edit the episodes into one more consistent continuity.
That siad if they were to do it, there will be some bitching at each change that's made.

finally a new gijoe cartoon. Im hoping its the continuation of Resolute. Also hoping this new tf cartoon will give us something new. No more rehashed ideas. Heres what i would like to see, no humans at all(Have this new cartoon be on cybertron), real animation (CGI hasbro its time for another Beast Wars style cartoon)and a tone that will appeal to both kids and older fans (remember hasbro kids arent the only people who watch it). If Star Wars can do it so can Transformers.
