Hey fellow fans, i am new to this site & recently finding my way back into the AMAZING world of Transformers. I recall watching the cartoon & movie as a child and now, as an adult, i am looking to watch it all over again! So what i am wondering, is what is the order in which the different series released? For example, i know it was G1 then G2, but what about after that? I am a stickler and would prefer to watch them all in release order! Also, where would the animated movie fit into that order?

Thank you SO much! I cant wait to watch this phenomenon over again and talk about it with you all!

Alrighty

It starts with G1 - Season 1, Season 2, The Animated Movie, Season 3 and 4.

G2 is just a rehash of G1, not worth watching.

Then comes Beast Wars, which departs somewhat from the original format but continues the mythology of the original story (after floundering for the first season), set several hundred years after the end of the original Autobot/Decpeticon war.

Then Beast Machines is the direct sequel to Beast Wars, tying up the original time-line altogether, as far as the cartoons are concerned.

All of the above is known as the "G1 Continuity Family".

Then Hasbro rebooted the series with Robots In Disguise, which was just a filler series.

Then came the Unicron Trilogy, another reboot, consisting of three series, Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon and Transformers: Cybertron.

Then comes the Live Action Movies directed by Michael Bay.

And somewhere in the middle of those films is Transformers: Animated.

Have fun.
