The Universe of the Transformers is vast, and populated by many characters. Their universe is a large tapestry, made up of the stories and points of view of countless experiences that serve the larger whole.
These are some of those stories. This is:

I like the art style of this one. Deceptively simple at first glance, yet much more to it.

Some notes:
Where is Vorath, in panel 1, while he tells us this story in quick flashback sequences? The answer in Part 2, coming soon.
"Lords Of Kobol": a nod to the new BattleStar Galactica tv series. Maybe Nebulos is a lost Colony, like Earth: it does have a past of battles between organic human beings and Artificial Intelligences.
Mindwipe's interest in talking to dead Transformers comes from his G1 Marvel Profile (mr Budiansky?).
"Revelation", mr. Furman?
The Paradron Colonizers are the same fleet who left Cybertron in "Fight Or Flee" (Season 3 of the G1 Cartoon).
Now we're implying that someone went after them... but this new expedition never reached Paradron. They fell on Nebulos, instead, and died horribly.
But WHO where them? The answer in Part 2.
"Arielon" and "Are you alive?" are two more nods to BSG.
In its past, Nebulos was rich of Energon. We explored the same concept (and the same era) in our "History Repeats" Mosaic, where the time-travelling Autobots and Decepticons were forced to become Pretenders, in order to survive the deadly Raw Energon fields on Nebulos.
This story is set in Sunbow cartoon continuity, and takes place after "The Rebirth": hence, the presence of Vorath and Hot Rod being in synch with the Matrix (as he was Rodimus Prime in the previous season).

Great mosaic. Though personally, I'd prefer it set in the Marvel Universe. Nothing really saying it couldn't either.

Mindwipe's fangs look a little OTT.

The only bit that could not work perfectly is the reference to the fact that Hot Rod carried the Matrix. But it's not an explicit details... or at least, not yet.
In Part 2, there is an heavy G1 Marvel concept, that we tried to graft to the cartoon continuity (that's one of our goals: enrich and expand cartoon continuity by introducing all the great ideas from the original comics).
