So, uh... Costa has split personalities, or or what? Because what he does with ongoing is a pile of slag, but Ironhide keeps getting more interesting.

Hey I don't know if anyone has already asked this but is that Metroplex at the end of Ironhide #2? And is that drone with Ironhide at the end of the same comic, and the recent preview pages Scamper?

It does appear to be Metroplex and Scamper.

The Metroplex theory is a good one, but not one with an answer yet.
I too did not see the A3 coming, but it's good, and can only help IDW/HASBRO get to where they want to be with their 'Original 13' ideas...

Hmm, I thought I posted already but it seems it's gone. Anywho, This issue is looking to be awesome so far

I especially love Ironhide's face when A.T introduces himself. My hopes for Sunstreaker coming back are looking good too. That's a very Sunstreaker-esque hand on the second cover there

Hey guys I strongly believe that issue three has Metroplex in it. If it aint him it's a fortress that can transforming capabilities. Look at the third preview page. Check out the flooring in the fourth panel. Then go and get your copy of 1986's Transformers the movie and go to the scene where Starscream has to blast off his own foot to keep from getting crushed. Notice the similarities? More detail has been added but I think that the artist used the movie as a reference. If I'm wrong I'd like my crow fried and sparsely seasoned, with a side of fries, and a ronald palmer litely iced. The chaps that run this site can cover the bill.

Me thinks this may be the mysterious "no faction" which rebuilt Drift and gave him his big shiny sword and judging by Alpha Trion's clothing I'd say that Drift got his own duds from them as well. See Spotlight Drift if you are wondering what I mean.
On the Metroplex thing-
In issue 2 that city looks nothing like Metroplex (or any other cityformer, with that many towers it would be one hell of a transformation) and considering Metroplex was on a mission by himself (as in alone) in Spotlight Metroplex, I will be surprised if this place is him as having others inhabiting you would be the opposite of being alone (plus he stated he must stay in hiding).
Looks awesome though and will be picking this issue up, Ironhide is looking to be an interesting series

This is in response to Chironext's post. Looking at the G1 series there were many times in the episodes where the story took place inside of Metroplex, and there were extra buildings. In many scenes Metroplex never looked the same. Unless he was a bout to Transform into his robot mode. Then he would look like the toy/figure. A good example would be "The Return of Optimus Prime" episode. The scene in which Ultra Magnus assembled a strike force took place inside of Metroplex and there were more buildings in that scene than depicted in other panels. I am just posting a strong opinion/hunch. Hence my willingness to eat crow if I am wrong.

I want to say in Scramble City, Metroplex was seen as a portion of Autobot City rebuilt.
I think he could be here, if he was a portion of the 'heavenly city'.

Am I the only one who HATES Alpha Trion? People complain about Drift being a fanboy's dream but Trion is a terrible cliche and robots with beards look ridiculous.
I was coming around to IDW at long last but between this and crazy Dark Universe Galvatron, I'm losing faith again.
Alpha Trion should be consigned to Limbo with all the other terrible ideas introduced in Transformers and never seen again.

Alpha Trion - cool! (Wish they'd make a toy of him)
This series bugs the hell out of me! I don't know if it's in the past or the present.

Thus, it is doing it's job. Only one more issue to wait until we find out how dead he is.

I didn't say that Metroplex can't be inhabited I said that in the IDW universe the last time we see him he was on a mission to protect something so important he was avoiding all cybertronians even though the Autobots were losing the war he still didn't waver from this mission so him being on Cybertron and being inhabited doesn't make sense to me if he's meant to be in hiding. I also know he is often represented as one part of a larger city we even see this in Spotlight Metroplex but it was still obviously him he had his colours and basic shape I just don't see it in that city.
Having said this though, with IDW's history of bad art continuity and plot holes you may be right.

Maybe this explains his mask, could he be clean shaven?
