Beast wars equivalent of a Geewunner?

First, is there a term for someone who grew up on BW?
Anyway, I'm wondering how many people here got into Transformers at least partly due to the BW series.
I suppose you could take this a bit further too: Are BW people more accepting of change in the TF brand (e.g. the bay-verse) since the BW franchise itself is a parting from the majority of Transformers? Do you have more or less of a connection to G1 and G1 inspired continuities?

Such a term doesn't really exist... I'll say that I got into Transformers through the Beast Era and I think if I hadn't been such a big Armada toy collector, I'd have a complete BW collection.

I was born in '88, so i really missed the "good ol' days". But I still had plenty of G1 toys.
Beast Wars is what really drew me into the TF fandom. Without it, I don't think I would have even bothered with RID, Armada etc...
The fact that Beast Was was linked to G1 in such a powerful way in the last few seasons, initially got me interested in the older TF series.

me, me, me, me, PICK ME!
Anyways, I was born around when BW started and since my mom was into TransFormers, I grew up on it.
BW in turn got me interested in G1(because I heard grimlock was a Dinosaur, I loved Dinosaurs)...but then RiD kinda killed it because being 8 or so I THOUGHT it was G1 then found out it wasn't and was kinda...weird/suckish...

I was raised during the Beast era during my pre-teen/early teen years. BW just had a rich story that was very involved with G1. To this day BW is my favorite TF series, but G1 is good and Prime is really good, so at least there are other shows that I can watch.
If only BM hadn't been so bad, maybe we'd be seeing the Beast saga continue to this day.

I 'grew up' with the G2 cartoon, but was kinda chased off by Beast Wars.
RiD brought me back to Transformers.

RiD seriously brought you back? I thought that out of all the TF series, that one in particular was the worst. Horible storylines, bad voices, and I prefer more of an American style cartoon, which I know that the last one is completely opinional btw. It's interesting though to see people's opinions on these shows.

I liked Beast Wars until they offed Tigertron, Airazor and Dinobot and then turned Rhinox into a Decepticon in Beast Machines.

Yeah, it was kinda sad when they killed some characters. Beast Machines is a different story. It was cool that it continued the BW storyline, but man, it just wasn't a good TF show.
And to be technical, Rhinox turned into a Vehicon

Sorry...had too

Thanks. I couldn't think of the proper term. It just sucks either way. Rhinox was so lovable.

RiD brought me back to Transformers.
It's weird because this is the total opposite of what happened with me, I was 9 and I hated RiD, I'm not saying anything against your opinion, everyone's entitled to theirs, but I personally really disliked it.

i was born in 87, so i missed the g1 cartoon but my older bro didn“t and he was the one that got me into transformers around the g2 toyline, but BW IS what really got me into transformers since i just loved that show from rattrap to waspinator, dinobot, primal , megatron and the others such an amazing cast of characters and really good storylines by far the best post g1 show ever

Seeing as i grew up with Armada i cant speak for you BW fans but if a term like Gewunner existed for beast wars, it would be something like Beastwarrer. Less catchy istnt it?

I propose we Beast Wars Gen 3, since it does take place in the future of G1 & G2

I suppose we could be called "Beasties"...

That's better than my idea. Beasties sounds good.
IT IS OFFICIAL!

I was going to propose Beasties myself so you've got my vote.
I was sceptical about RID myself but it got better once Scourge and the Decepticons came into it. I love the voice cast. Armada/Energon were the bad cartoons.
Would Beasties be more accepting of the Movie designs given the alien faces of both lines?

I grew up with Beast Wars and it's still my favorite TF series. G1 and Animated come next and Prime looks good so far.

Don't worry about it. Everybody hates RiD.
The only thing that most people even half-like about it is Scourge and Omega Prime.
It's really much better if you watch CarRobots. translation made i=the series suffer, as did some weird edit choices.

I guess I fall into this category too. Beast Wars introduced me to the Transformers and I haven't left since.

Me too! Or, I mean, I also was under the false impression that RiD was G1. Then again, I had also previously mistaken Machine Wars for G1 too. It wouldn't be until I learned of Armada's development that I began to look into the
real G1 series.

Bite your tongue! I
LOVED RiD! Just as much as I loved Beast Machines!
And while I can wholeheartedly acknowledge Car Robots to be the superior version, I have not yet seen it (I intend to, though, once TV-Nihon finishes fansubbing it), and RiD is in a completely different continuity family than Car Robots. As for the edits, blame 9/11!
