The two page manga featured in the Japanese Transformers Generations 2010 book has now been translated. While it doesn't do much to advance the plot it does showcase a number of new and forthcoming United figures.

Ratchet? And who's that behind Optimus on the "that perfect opponent just appeared" picture?

Pretty sure it's Ironhide.

So, they might get figures too?

Don't count on it. I can answer that without a Magic 8-Ball :P

Is that supposed to be Scourge next to Frenzy/Rumble and Lugnut?

Yup. Also in those pictures are G2 Optimus, Blurr, and Grapple.

Also just because WFC Starscream, Ratchet, and Ironhide in this doesn't mean they're getting toys (as Hasbro has said they have no plans to do so).

I've always loved Naoto Tsushima's art style for the Transformers, and I'm glad to see he's still going. I'm also glad to see WFC as part of this line being in continuity with it instead of the Prime cartoon.

So now we have another continuity snarl with this manga. This story seems to infer that we have a WFC-esque reality that evolves into being even more like G1.

It's almost like TakaraTomy wants to ignore Hasbro's plans (typical  ) with making WFC and Exodus lead into TF: Prime, and instead are taking it in a more G1 direction.
Sure Takara, go ahead and make our heads hurt more. :BANG_HEAD: :HEADHURTS: :BOOM:

I dunno about you, but hasbro's plans are the brainhurt for me. WFC was conceived as part of G1 continuity to begin with, but some lazy bastards decided to change it to fit with the new Prime series because they can't come up with a better back story for the show.

So I choose to believe authoral intent over that crap, and if United sees fit to think the same then more power to em!

Like anybody could follow the comics included with the Takara Classics... Seriously, these comics are little more than the battle scenes at the back of the G1 boxes - they are meant only to sell toys.

The Henkei! Henekei! manga wasn't hard to follow, as it wasn't trying to be forced into the G1 cartoon timeline like so many other Japanese G1 media. It's in its own G1 timeline like how the G1 Marvel Comics, the G1 Dreamwave comics, and the G1 IDW comics are each in their own respective timelines.

And the Henkei! Henkei! manga also stuck with using nothing but G1 continuity/Primax characters. United on the other hand features characters from G1, characters from the modern aligned canon, and characters from "who-knows-where?" (i.e. - Lugnut).

Interesting how Grapple (and I'm assuming that is Grapple) uses a Hasbro-style deco rather than having his head coloured like his torso...

I was going to, but I decided a thread would get people's attention and put a stop to this nonsense once and for all.

Not like this hasn't happened with nearly every series since RiD. Eventually people will get it.

.....

on second thought, forget it.

I just remembered I hate the fandom anyway, and I hate arguing with it even more.

Maybe I should restate that; I hate the fandom, I hate arguing with it, I hate Mortal Kombat, and I hate retarded Mortal Kombat references.
