This is for those who are experts in the VHS releases.

As a kid, I remember renting "Transformers 2" (or it could've been labled "Transformers: The Movie 2"). I remember the box had the toy box art of Powermaster Optimus Prime on the surface of Cybertron. Years later, I realized it was actually The Five Faces of Darkness.

I've been wondering if this tape exists or if it was simply my imagination.

There was this VHS release that I may have watched and my memories have skewed.

I think he's asking if there was a second release of the VHS, with a different cover. If so, there's none that I know of.

I think he is also asking if any of us have a copy since I think he wants to own a copy. Not too sure, hopefully he will come back to answer us soon.

I distinctly remember an LD version of this back in the late 90's

Well I think its a bit of both.

I used to work at a neighborhood video rental store back in the day.

I remember we go all these add, and promotional materials for "Transformers the tv movie 2",, small signs and standees.

But when the merchandise arrived it was "5 faces of darkness".

The box'es of the video's never reflected the promotional materials but maybe you same that stuff.
