That all sounds very interesting. Looking forward to finding out more. I'll be happy so long as they keep rolling out the trade paperbacks.

Here's hoping it's metaphorical for once. I want to see Optimus hit the booze and become buddies with Bender from Futurama.

Actually, when this is done I'd like to see Optimus get a Powermaster rebuild - if for no other reason that I think it'd be nice for once in IDW continuity to see him go one-on-one against Megatron and NOT get his @$$ kicked for a change.

My thoughts exactly. The whole "Death of Optimus Prime" storyline has just gotten so tedious, mostly due to the resurrection story that inevitably follows sooner or later.

This might be the last ditch effort by IDW to get everything nice and tidy and back on course. Have this earth-shattering CHAOS event, have Prime sacrifice himself (either as an attempt to do one last act of nobility or out of a despondent, suicidal frame of mind, take your pick) and thereby bring the Autobots to act out of righteous fury as a cohesive unit and open an industrial size can of whoop-ass on all their foes and bring all their enemies to their knees in one place at one time and get things back on track. From THAT point, IDW can begin the plodding quest that must be undertaken to resurrect/recover/regurgitate/reformat Optimus Prime. As the collective 'Con forces are licking their wounds and mad enough to work as a unit to counter-attack, Prime will return all buff and burly and shiny and running on the Beta version of Windows 8 and will thrash the remaining 'Cons, shove Megatrons head up Galvatrons a** and save a human or 2 from almost certain death.

ummm...should I have tossed up a spoiler alert or something?? I mean, honestly, most folks should be used to this by now, it's happened about every 2 years since 1984 so I'm really not giving away much. :P

But... why does Prime need to sacrifice himself again? Didn't Ironhides "death" make the impact Costa wanted in Ongoing? Or Bumblebees, or Hot Rods? - this is getting ridiculous, I wonder if Kup or the pulverized cop would just walk in the scene without a scratch.
