How do the IDW and Dreamwave comic series compare to each other? Which one is your favorite and why?
I've been thinking about checking some of these out, as I haven't read any Transformers comics, except for a few issues of the G1 Marvel comics, which didn't really impress me.

I found after buying both series that I prefer Dreamwave more, detailed art, action packed with enough going on in the background to make you wonder what happens next. It was also loaded with little easter eggs and such. IDW though I have found that even though the series started slow I didn't actually mind it, it was mysterious and seemed to be building up to something however the series is still slow and the events that get built up promise fireworks but deliver party poppers. The art has become bland and the story seems all over the place like they are making it up as they go along. I still like the mini-series they put out and the Spotlight issues. IDW's handling of the Transformers has actually made me stop buying their comics. To bad Dreamwave was poorly managed I loved their G1 ongoing series.

I really liked the DW stuff. Good writing, good art. poopy business management.
I stopped reading comics because of IDW. I didn't like the story or the art. I heard they've improved since, but at first IDW was ****.

dreamwave had the prettier art.
but (up to costa at least) IDW had the better writing.
in fact some of the ideas in IDWs universe was god damn genius. theyve also took more chances on art than any other company to handle the liscence. the biggest chance dreamwave took on that front was the WW2 TF/GI JOE crossover by jae lee.

Guidio's TFs I have always found amazing. Some of the other art. Not so much. I really didn't like that IDW switched artists like that. DW at kept the same style even if it wasn't the same artist. Which I have to say I did like.
