whatever happened to mr darby?

we all know he left his wife (was june ever married?) and kid but any theories why?
i'm guessing he's in an egyptian hospital after an epic freakout from losing to a japanese punk at poker.

A better question is: Why do cartoons hate having two parents?
Don't get me wrong, I'm the child of a single parent, but that's the exception to the rule.

To much money? Paying for two designs, two lots of screen time, two lots of character development, probable two more voice actors?
I mean, come season 4 Carly was seen very rarely.

if you'd use 'crisscross' as a basis, jack would've a hard time sneaking out/coming home late to help the autobots if he has two parents because june goes home late due to her job is the only reason jack had to go out and 'play'
